Default First Service at 6000 km

I did my first oil change at 4800 km, regularly check & maintain all of my fluids and tire pressures and basically do a "spot check" on the car every week. I called my dealership to book my first service (scheduled at 6000 km) and he said based on what I do, I don't need to come in. Is the service guy off his rocker or do I really not need to go in? Unfortunately I don't have the service manual with me here so I can't check what needs to be done, but I could have sworn there was more to it than that.

I would have to agree with the service guy. Considering what you already do (and have done), there's really no need for the dealer to "do" anything more. (That "do" is also known as "get more $$ from you".)

yep if your competent enough to check all your fluids and such yourself no reason to take it to them. other than. having records of that does increase resale value. if that ever becomes an options. having documented proof of dealer checkups never hurts
