370z Roadster Can't Download Contacts From Palm Pre
Hello. New to this forum and my first Z!! Love it so far (4 days and counting). I tried to down load my contacts from my Sprint Palm Pre to my Hands Free system following the instructions after syncing the phone. Phone even asked if I wanted to share the contacts and I said yes. Nothing in the phone book though when I ask to list the names. I tried manually transferring them via the palm pre and the phone keeps giving me an error (not able to connect or something). I owned a Challenger SRT8 before this car and it did it automatically without me even knowing how the contacts were available via the hands free system. It also works on my wife's 2 year old Dodge mini-van.
Even if there is some incompatibility issue between the phone and the Z, I tried to do it manually following the Z's manual and the phonebook transfer entry option isn't an option in my car. What gives. I can't even seem to speak a name and number and store it manually. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Oh.. I can make phone calls using the dial number option and I can receive calls just fine. Thanks. Travis Last edited by tklein2; 05-03-2010 at 04:03 PM. |

Palm Pre Compatability
I have the same problem with Bluetooth and loading contacts. I have entered some contacts, not using Bluetooth, but using the voice command feature of the Z. Officially the Palm Pre is not compatable with the Z. Meaning Bluetooth kind of works kind of doesn't. You can make and receive calls using Bluetooth. Check this Nissan Link. How do I load contacts manually?
Thanks for the response superZ. How do I load contacts in manually via voice commands? I've tried that, but just can't figure it out and the manual sucks for this stuff. By the way I don't have the NAV. Do I have to delete all paired phones first. That can't work, becuase it needs a phone to associate a phonebook with. Very frustrating. I had an 18K 2010 mazda 3 before this that had a bose system and it linked up to all my family phones including my pre with no problem... I think Nissan cheaped out here!

more than likely it's an incompatibility with the phone to the car. MANY vehicles of all makes have this issue. There are simply too many phones out there with various programming for the car to work with EVERY one. My father's BMW M6 is the same way with his older phone. some phones you simply cannot download the contacts unfortunately even if the blue tooth works for calls etc..
