Does basic warranty cover paint?

I bought a 2009 370z 3 days ago, but I cannot drive it because of crazy snow in this area (VA). I cleaned the snow, and I found some scratches.

Does it cover the warranty?
if not, how much does it cost to paint?
the scratches are about 3~4 inches..

warranty covers manufacturer defects unless you opted for one of the expensive dealer protection plans, sorry man it's on you. I don't know about painting the Z but usually you'd have to paint multiple panels, or you can try touch up paint.

Once you've driven off the lot, the paint is your burden to bear save for the rare instance you can prove there was a defect like bubbling. You're on your own with scratches. Consider a dual-action buffer and some polishing compound if you can't see through to the primer or metal/plastic. Otherwise, go seek a professional shop for help.

You did it by snow shovel? As in you used a snow shovel to get the snow off of your car? Be ready to get reamed.

VA right? Damn dude I know you guys got 32 inches but you just bought the car, would it have hurt to have brushed it off with your arms? I'd love to see you try to take it back to the dealer, they are going to look at the snow, look at the scratches and I doubt hear you try to explain how it was their fault.

Try the buffing polishing method, if you take it to a paint shop you are going to get reamed, prepare to hear "it's a special blue color" and it probably won't perfectly match.
