Don't blame Nissan. Every car manufacturer does this for the passenger seat. The sensor is there for when you have small children or animals secured in the passenger seat. If the airbag goes off with a small child or dog in the passenger seat, it will likely kill them.

I mean I guess I understand it, but I wish there was an option to turn it on and off manually. I never have children or animals in the car (others might so I see).
