A/C controls go out after starting vehicle
 

Hello all I have a 2018 370z touring model and I have my Z @ Nissan for warranty work regarding this and here is what is happening to my car. I typically eat lunch at home and drive there from work, when I drive my Z home it's fine but SOMETIMES not always when I get in my car after lunch to head back to work the ac light is out with no controls, cannot change the inside or outside air, the NAV shows *** for the avg distance to empty and my AVG MPG. It typically stops when I start and stop the car but again not always... It threw a code when I took it in yesterday @ nissan but I wanted to see if ANY forum members have had or seen this happen?

Which code was thrown? If you don't have an OBD tool, most parts stores will loan/rent you one; some will even go out to the parking lot and read the code for you.

My wild guess is that it's a CAN communications problem. Maybe a connector in marginal condition that goes bad when the engine compartment gets hot while sitting. The DTC(s) should you you an idea of what's going on.

Not sure what code was thrown as they had to take it back. Will check into that! Thank you for the info

This also happened to my 2018 Sport Tech. I took it to the dealer and they did not find out why it happened. I will have to see if it does it again after I take it out of storage. If anyone finds out what the cause is, please post it.

I’ve had the same problem, nothing worked on the bottom half of the console. It happened when pulling over to put the top up. Tried turning off and restarting the car but that didn’t work, played around with the controls, then it just started working again??? Don’t know the cause or remedy. It’s hard to troubleshoot when its working.
