2016 370z Window Open Door Adjustment
Thanks for taking the time to read this, I am having an issue with my driver side window automatically lowering itself when the door opens. It lowers itself about an inch and when you close it its suppose to roll itself back up. Well the issue is when the door is open sometimes it goes up by itself before the door is closed and wont allow the door to close putting pressure on the window. I have to be very careful when closing the door so I don't bust the window. I have taken this car to the shop twice and they cant seem to find an issue with the window. No error codes, and from what they tell me they can't reproduce the error. I asked them to put it in the sun and then try it as heat seems to increase the frequency of this issue.
Has anyone else experienced this issue? I have tried to reset the windows several times. Car is under warranty, however they wont replace anything if they cant find anything. I dont need my window breaking while at work and getting the inside of my car soaked and me being responsible for the damage. Ive asked my dealership to check sensors/motor anything that could relate to it but they keep telling me they can't find anything. Any advice is greatly appreciated. |

If you want to do your own trouble-shooting, the Factory Service Manual (FSM) can be downloaded. Link is in my sig.
My guess is that there is an intermittent problem with the door-closed switch. Intermittent problems can be very frustrating (the dealer can't fix it if it ain't broke) and, if you can't trouble-shoot it yourself, you may have to wait until it catastrophically fails.

Thanks for your reply,
going to have to troubleshoot it myself, ill read over the manual and see what I can find. I just figured if the dealsership couldn't find an issue my chances would be much slimmer than that of a dealership as my expertise are in other areas. Was just curious if someone else had experiencing a similar issue. |

If you can learn to use a multimeter and read some electrical drawing (neither is particularly difficult), you should be able to do your own trouble-shooting. Since the problem is intermittent and you spend more time with the car than the dealer, you have a better chance of catching it while it's acting up.
IIRC, there is more than one thread on this site that discusses the same or similar problem. Might be able to get some ideas there. Go to any of the big web search engines and add "site:the370z.com" to your search string.

Try pulling the negative battery cable off for about 20 minutes, then reconnect.
If that doesn't work, then your car is possessed and you need to name it "Christine".
