Default Warranty Coverage?

So after most of my reading I get the feeling that the oil coolers are not going to be covered by warranty. I see a couple of people saying that the dealer they go to said they would cover it, but I don't know if anyone has seen it on paper?!?

My question is, what should the dealer cover? My parts manager said that all of my warranties are pretty much non-existent because of the Stillen performance parts that I have added. (Which is, I believe, everything except for the high flow cats.)

Can someone please clear this up for me, because I am reading varying arguements?

Since Nissan didnt design it, build it, or install it, they would have no call to warranty it. Now, if your dealer says he will (in writing) that's another story.
Nissan is not gonna back him up if his install results in a blown $9K motor so I'm kinda doubting he'll be willing to give you that assurance. (happened here once already). Face it......If you want to put a cooler on, you're pretty much on your own if any potetial failure could be linked to it..

Wow, let me re-phrase my question... I'm reading it again and realizing that it wasn't what I really wanted to ask.

Parts manager told me that an oil cooler would void all warranties and that my Stillen parts voided most warranties... Is this true??!?!?!?

Nissan's position is this:

Aggressive driving of the 370Z on a race track at sustained high engine speeds can cause increases in oil temperature and may activate this engine protection system. To avoid activation of this engine protection system and these reduced peak engine speeds, Nissan recommends an oil cooler be fitted to the 370Z before driving it on a race track. A Nissan Motorsports accessory oil cooler kit is available for customer purchase through authorized Nissan dealerships for race track use. The part number is 21300-SS370.

An oil cooler is not necessary for normal operation of the vehicle on public roads. The addition of an oil cooler would have raised the price of the car and potentially moved it out of the reach of some customers. Value has been a core principle of the Z car since the original 240Z and we choose to uphold this core principle by not adding additional costs that are unnecessary for normal use. For those individuals who choose to drive their vehicle on a race track, the oil cooler is available as an aftersales item.

The oil cooler is a Nissan Motorsports item and as such is sold without warranty, express or implied, unless expressly prohibited by law in which case the warranty provided is the minimum required by law. The installation of the Nissan Motorsports oil cooler does not, by itself, “void” the vehicle warranty. However any damage caused by the installation or use of this part is expressly excluded under the terms of the Nissan New Vehicle Limited warranty
If any of your Stillen parts were to contribute to a failure, then warranty on whatever part or system that failed would likely not be covered. Aftermarket parts don't automatically Void a warranty though some dealers will take that position. Proving otherwise can often be difficult and expensive despite the Magnusson-Moss act that "supposedly" protects you from this.

So in the last part there where it says that "it does not, by itself void any warranties" but then in the last sentence it seems kind of blurred. Can you give me your interpretation of that last sentence in the quote?

Edit: So Basically it's not covered then?

Ha ha! Basically i says if the cooler breaks, or causes anything else to break, you're outta luck and they're not gonna cover it!

I find it ridiculous that they will charge you $$$$$ if you get it from a nissan dealer and STILL not cover it.
