Valvoline Oil Change Station

Hi there!

Just wondering if anyone trusts these places to get their oil changes: Valvoline Instant Oil Change - Oil Change Stations - Sawtelle - Los Angeles, CA - Reviews - Photos - Yelp

Thanks!

God no! My girlfriend took her Miata to one and when I tried to do her next oil change I need to take a chain wrench with a cheater to break the damn filter loose. I was afraid I was going to break the mount off. I wouldn't take a mini van to a quick change oil joint.

Simply no. Have my own horror story. Just no

There are bad apples everywhere, just you run a higher risk of running into one at those places.

I, and millions and millions of Americans, get their oil changed at quickie oil change stations every year with no incident.

Don't walk. Run. In the opposite direction.

This. Using those type of places almost cost me a motor once.

You don't have friends, colleagues, acquaintances who can do it for you if you're not mechanically inclined?

And each and every one of you pay to get screwed over. Often times they'll give you back the car without changing anything. There are dozens of independent news report on this very topic.

Last time I borrowed my parents' car, the low oil light came on. Checked the dip stick and it was bone dry. Low oil light only came on because I was braking heavily because a traffic accident happened in front of me; must have oil starved the engine a bit. Who knows how long it had been running with low oil. Mum said that they went to a new place for an oil change because my uncle's place was closed on the day they decided to do it.

Better to let the dealer change it. It's really no price difference IMO.

Wonka2581 09-25-2015 08:25 AM

You take your car there and they will come back to tell you "well what was supposed to happen was" and "what happened was" :icon14:
