RE: Key fob question
But why would you want to leave the FOB in anyone can than start you car, get in your trunk, etc.
|
I leave the car in the garage with an NSX. Keys are on both of them and I leave the keys in the Z4 Coupe left on the driveway. I haven't locked my front door for 15 years... I live in a really safe area.
However, I have had the Z for two weeks. I have been leaving the key fob in the car and the battery wore down! I think that the key and the car are constantly communicating. I'm not leaving the fob in the car anymore. |
I'm coming to your neighborhood!!!
|
I'm not sure if the car/fob do more communicating when in range or not but you should be able to check by putting the fob in a metal box. The "Press Brake/Clutch" light should go off if the box is doing a good job of shielding the fob. See if battery drains.
