Duckbill Spoiler

Has any one seen a duckbill style spoiler on a vert? Or can anyone photoshop one onto a vert? The backend is definitely missing something. I just don't want to have a massive wing, small and simple.

I only know of the Evo-R wing. (Looks better painted)

I want a small lip spoiler...not one raised so high.

It should go along the ridge line of the deck on top of the 3rd brake light.

MadChemist 10-15-2013 07:08 PM

The one by bummer's spoiler solutions looks decent. Similar to the oem sport spoiler.

Bummer 10-16-2013 12:40 AM

I picked the Spoiler Solutions version because it looks the most like the standard coupe Sport spoiler. I don't care for the duckbill type, but that's just personal taste. YMMV and all that.

How much was your spoiler? and were you able to get the spoiler prepainted?

$299 with $25 shipping. They do come prepainted, so specify the color - I sent them both the common name and the Nissan paint number. Service is very good. Google "ebay spoiler solutions 370z". They are in Texas.

Thanks for the info

Bummer 10-18-2013 06:30 PM

Glad to help.

MadChemist 10-19-2013 11:37 PM

Got one option. Anyone else? Don't care if cheap or stupid, be imaginative.

MadChemist 10-25-2013 10:23 PM

This thread will be dead in 3 2 1 without input.

ParkStr8 10-26-2013 03:55 PM

There just are no options...which for a guy like me who wants one, is very sad... :(

Stock spoiler with the carbon signal add-on, looks great on the coupe and vert.

It just slips over the stock sport spoiler, in comes in Frp or CF.

Here's a few with it on my Z.

Nice looking Z.

Small problem: There is no stock sport spoiler for the Roadster.

I spent a year and a half looking on here and beyond before I installed an aftermarket spoiler. Nobody speaks of successfully installing a stock Nissan coupe sport spoiler on a Roadster. It appears that the closest we can come is the Spoiler Solutions spoiler, and it's not likely to be exactly the same.

ParkStr8 10-28-2013 11:26 AM

We should just agree on a design and commission some one to fabricate it....

I defer back to my original wanting a lip spoiler - not a wing.

KaienZ34 10-28-2013 12:59 PM

So the stock sport spoiler will not fit the vert??

I didn't try. As I mentioned above, nobody on here, or anywhere else on the web that I was able to find ever mentioned putting a Coupe spoiler on a Roadster. Seems to me that's going to be a lot of money to spend to gamble that it'd fit.

Consider: The angle of the hatchback versus the angle of the Roadster trunk, and the shape of the surfaces. The hatchback on the Coupe angles upward almost immediately while the Roadster trunk is much more horizontal at that point. There are lines formed in the hatchback that are not on the trunk. The trunk has a double recurve (so to speak) similar to (but different from) the hood - almost the opposite in that the formed lines go inward/downward on the trunk rather than outward/upward as on the hood. It's also not as large/noticeable as the one on the hood. The line formed on the hatchback wraps around the window and leads to the third taillight.

Really, based upon the shapes of the areas, I can't imagine the Coupe spoiler fitting on the Roadster. Of course, I've been wrong before, but I'm really not expecting it this time.

That's the Spoiler Solutions spoiler. It's the same one, obviously different color, that I have. In fact, that's the thread that started me in the Spoiler Solutions direction. BeachZTT also has a detailed installation thread with more pictures and additional instructions beyond those sent with the spoiler. Quite helpful.

Here's my post from the Sponsors Classifieds area.

Additionally, the spoilers are not identical, just close. If you see my Roadster, then see a Coupe you might not notice a difference, but side by side, the shapes are just not identical.

this is it! this looks to be what i'm after in a vert! in terms of fixing the lines from the rear, i think this may be all i need. i wouldn't mind finding pics of this matched with an amuse rear end, but i like this a lot!!

Bummer 11-11-2013 11:16 PM

I'm afraid I can't help you with the Amuse bumper. Whatcha see is what I got.

One of my photo albums has a couple of other pics that show the car from different angles. Two of 'em show different side angles of the spoiler. There are pics with the HDR fiddling and without. The HDR brings out the areas that are somewhat hidden by shadow.

I'm sure there are other spoilers that can be used - "With a bigger hammer you can do anything", and all that. As far as Roadster specific spoilers, the duckbill at the beginning of the thread, and this one seem to be the choices.
