Ok - I just wish there was more to read in the roadster section.

I visit a few times every day - and always have to go to the General Discussion or Interior/Exterior or Wheel/Brakes sections.

Oh well - guess that's what i get for buying a low volume specialty car. That I'm more than a little obsessed with.

I get what you're saying. And yeah, you can start topics, but it would be nice if there was more discussion about them.

This whole site is dead. I help moderate the S2000 board and it seems like we have more posts in the "under the hood" section in one day than this whole board gets in one day.

Yea - I was on G35Driver and myg37 and they were both super busy. My EX and FX sites are slow, too.

I thought this would have been busier...but then again not that much to customize and a relatively small consumer base....

with less than 40,000 370Zs on the road, there isn't a huge user base.

I used to have an S2000 and S2ki was always busy. Then I picked up a WRX and NASIOC is one of the most active forums on the net...so just a slight change coming here.

We would probably have more activity here if they didn't offer the 370z in an automatic.

True - and driving a roadster diminishes the numbers even more. And cuts the mods by a a huge amount too.

So I guess I'll just keep posting about whatever's on my mind at that time.

I ride a Yamaha Royal Star Venture. In the motorcycle world they're as rare as a 370Z Roadster in the car world.

I'm a member of a forum aimed at the Venture. Compared to some forums there's not a lot of activity. On the other hand there's as much activity as the forum-active base can support. When people ask a question they almost always get a solid answer. As a result of the relatively small user base a lot of us know each other.

One of the things we do to help build camaraderie and a general sense of family is to have regional Meet and Eats, and two types of rallys: smaller local meets and an annual "International". All involve rides of various lengths as well as the opportunity for members to get to know each other.I've hosted local Meet and Eats that drew members from not just Indiana, but Illinois, Kentucky, Ohio, and Michigan. I've gone to a couple in Michigan that drew quite a few of the Canadian members. All of these are organized by proactive members who just decide to do it. (The big rally is a bit more complicated, but still organized by local volunteers.)

I've looked in several of the regional areas of the forum and found very little. I'm wondering if this has been tried and generally failed due to the low number of Z owners overall. (Realizing, of course, that a guy in California isn't very likely to be able to drop in on a M&E in Indiana, and vice versa. :))

Of course, I realize this isn't all that Roadster specific, just musing about a possible way to pick up the feel of activity on the forum.

Paddle shifters allllll day! plus when i get in traffic its all good. never miss a shift, and AT can be faster than manuals.

It would be really cool to do some regional meets that were roadster specific. I want to see a picture of 20-50 roadsters.

I just said that cause more enthusiast will buy a manual, where an automatic option allows a more diverse crowd to purchase one. S2k's, WRX's, etc. aren't usually bought by the casual driver, but more of an enthusiast crowd since they're only offered in a manual. But this would also make even less Z's on the road. I would definitely own an auto if I lived in a city like Chicago.

I don't know if this late in the year would be a truly good time to start, but I guess it's better than never.

So what do you think, just coffee (as others do - e.g. Chicago), or food? I'd be more than happy to host a M&E at Squealers BBQ. Been there done that with the bike crowd - mmmmm good.

I had the auto in the '11. It was great in casual (rather boring) city driving. On the other hand, it tended to shift slow when I was actually using the paddles and taxing it in the twisties like on the Tail Of The Dragon. I had the dealer look at it - they found no problem. My conclusion is that when you're pushing it, the shifts can be slow.

I got a manual this time. With practice it's unlikely to be any slower than the auto, and operation can be more precise.

Alright lets get some Roadster input.... I am an Admin over on a Mustang site... and the range of aftermarket parts and price points are MUCH better than available for our 370s.

I like the idea of a front lip for the front but the $700-$1,000 ones that I see pushed on here (with Japanese install instructions lol) are not for me.

I will do some better measurements soon - but the chin spoiler off an 03/04 Mach 1 Mustang may fit the 370... they can be had for a smashing $69 and are a slick and easy install. They are somewhat pliable so if you touch a curb with it it won't crack (unlike the $1,000 versions).

I photoshopped one onto my Roadster to get a rough idea...

Any of y'all here in Texas? San Antonio specifically we have Z Sport, in the Valley they have N.I.C.E. and another club in Austin. I love the ideal of a massive roadster shoot....that be legit

Not a fan of the chin spoiler. Doesn't fit the lines of the front. Just get an amuse front bumper and call it good. Or an amuse front bumper and a drop FTW.

I'm actually kind of neutral on the look. I'll have to ruminate on it a while. I certainly don't dislike it. It doesn't scream out ricer or ugly with a capital f, so it isn't a bad thing. Bear in mind none of the available bumpers/skirts/spoilers reach out to me yet either, so neutral is pretty much normal for me. In fact, it was over a year, and another Z, after I bought the spoiler before I finally installed it.

I most definitely like the idea of it being flexible. When I was in Nova Scotia with the '11 I thought I'd ripped the bottom off of the car. It sounded so bad I stopped to see if anything juicy was pouring out. The next time it was on the lift at the dealer's I couldn't find so much as a scratch. The way I see it, as low as these things are, flexible is a very good thing.

The real point is how do you feel about it.

I wouldn't be able to have that spoiler on the front of my car because it's too low. I already have a pretty good scrape on the underside of my front bumper.

Though I do have a little space for a diffuser of some type in the rear.

The coilovers drop it an inch or so don't they?

I'm about an 1-1/2" to 1-3/4" lower...I think. I forgot to measure before I did the swap.

I just measured an it's 26" to the top of the fender (directly above center) in the rear and 26-1/16" in the front. Not sure what stock measures out at.

Stock 13

Front - 27 1/2

Rear - 27 7/8

Give or take a fraction for standing on my head, narrow tape measure, and being pestered by my somewhat precocious 7 year old grandson, who of course wants to help :).
