370 Roadster hood issue, final closing of lid twisting?
I'm still having an issue with my Roadster roof lid not reaching its final position when putting the roof up or down.
Its basically the same as what this chap had but I am unable to reach him to find out how he resolved it: Adjusting roof??? Has anyone else has this, in short the lid comes down it into position, then when it slides down to lock into its final position, sometimes (happening more frequently now) it twists (as if one side stops working and the other side moves causing this twisting). I have to let go of the button and go the other way with it, then try it again but put a small bit of pressure to one side to help it into place? Does this part use the hydraulic system still or on some sort of motor? I have the manuals etc but cannot see any information on adjustment. Here is a youtube clip, its at the 12 second point or the 35 second point where mine twists (this is of course not my car!). I will try and video mine tonight. Sorry, I know it's not much help, but I do not have the issue you've described. Are you still under warranty?

Afraid not the warranty ran out 2 months ago! I do have a friend at the dealership and he is seeing what they can do, just got a feeling my local dealer won't have an idea and make it worse!

Now sorted, managed to fix this yesterday, was the drivers side (well pass.side across the pond!) storage lid hinge, it needed a slight adjustment, the first part of the hinge wasnt closing fully in turn was locking the second part. Thankfully it wasnt anything hydraulic related / costly!

I have had several lid/roof issue over the last few years. I do agree that the dealership will mess it up. They do so on mine. Finally they took it to a good bodyshop and it seems to have worked.
If you have I pay for the repair I would just take it to a bodyshop. If the dealer is willing to do something ask for them to send it out for repair. |
