Up or Down...

So - new to the roadster, not to cars (#49 in a long list).

I've read almost every post and searched (only found 1 post with 4 replies) ...and seen all the top problems. As mine is a 12 with a brand new top - I think I've also bypassed all the other issues - oil cooling, steering lock, etc.

Now to my questions:

1. I see others saying they don't leave the top down for say, a few days at a time. I have a garage at work and at home...so i could leave it down indefinitely or for days at a time. Is there any proven issue with this?

2. Frequency of top up and down? How often do you guys put it up and down? 1X a day, 2x...?

3. I've 303'd the top - anyone done the interior?

4. If i can leave it down - anyone know of a cover (other than makeshift like a nice thick blanket) to cover the cab while in garage.

I'm not really worried about it - I plan to drive it and enjoy it but at the same time I take meticulous care of my cars.

Ok - that's it for tonight.

:)

Pinch points and creases are a good reason to not leave down. Z suffers from a few unfortunately. I was used to leaving top down with previous miata but our Z does not behave the same :)

The OM recommends the top be left up for longer periods of storage or don't leave the top down indefinitely.

1. i'll leave mine down for a few days at a time.
2. Goes up or down whenever I need it up or down. I don't worry about the frequency. My s2000 top went up and down all the time for 6 years and looked new. If I run to the store i'll put it up and down.
3. 303 Fabric Guard I hope. I love 303 protectant on the vinyl and rubber bits but like RaggTopp for the fabric top
4. I haven't seen a specialty made cabin cover for when the top is down.

Thanks for the input...yes, 303 fabric guard. I was mainly concerned about leaving it down a day or two at most.

Mine goes up/down 2-3 times a day if I'm working that day.

It Stays down over night I go to working in the morning put the top up when at work if I head out during the work day top down and back up when I get back to work.

Then couple days off top is always down unless I have to leave the car somewhere unattended.

It is also garage stored at home.
