Screw in the tire
1 Attachment(s)
On the way to work this morning, the TPMS lit up. The car was driving fine, so I figured I would finish the 2 miles and check the tires at work. I hit traffic and was creeping along slowly with the window open. I then heard the dreaded sound of something in the rear driver side tire. I pulled over and immediately saw the screw. I turned around and went back home to switch vehicles. After work I took it to the dealership and they plugged the hole. The nice part they didn't charge me.

Did they plug or patch? I never let anyone plug my tires. Actually, the place that I buy tires won't do plugs, the do "permanent" patches.
Glad they didn't charge you. That's a good price. |
I worked at a tire shop. I plugged tires all the time, i still use them in all my vehicles. Never once had one issue for the life of the tires. I always gaurenteed my plugs 100% to my customers.
patches work well also, but requires you to take off the tire, prep the location, and even then it may not stick very well. to each their own i guess. |
+1. i would definitely plug it myself vs patch that. go to your autoparts store for a $7 kit. :)
