Post Roof not opening consistently

I've been having some issues with my roof not opening on a consistent basis. This problem has arisen after my original roof was replaced due to poor window alignment thus cutting into the roof. The problem appears to occur after a night of sitting. Once I have driven for a bit, it resume operational.

I've had it checked and dealer told me some adjustment were made but this morning it happened again. This time, I drove for about a km, it worked. It seems to happen on colder climate days. I am not certain but is there a temperature sensor that prevent it's opening? Is there a re-set function for the roof much like that for the windows?

FYI - the first time it happened was during my attempt to close the roof. It stopped half way and I had to hold on the top to get hope. Not fun.

Thanks

One thing I've experenced is the motor that drives the pump will overheat and will trip from overheating. Once cooled it will reset and resume working. Not sure if this is whats happening to you but it will happen.

Tell your dealer it might be thermal overload because the top is binding

I don't think that it is overheating in fact, it only happens when it has been sitting overnight and the temperature is less than 10C degree. When I arrive at work (park indoor - Temp around 20) it works fine.

Nissan has had numerous issues with the convertible tops. There is actually a factory fix for some of them. Mine was that the roof support bracket on the side was actually hitting the corner of the lip of the cover plate. See the dealer and tell him to fix your 40K car!

Default Similar!

Been having a few problems with the roof on my 2010 roadster - most of the time OK but now had a couple of occasions when the roof failed - normally it gets as far as lowering the windows and then nothing. Dealer says the event log shows the hydraulic pump has over heated and it restarts ok after 5 mins. According to Nissan UK this is a completely unknown problem that they have never sseen before. Want me to remove the reversing camera I installed as it may be contributing to the problem! But unable to explain to me how it might be interfering!

My top hit the LID TRIM AND broke it. The dealer thinks I must have done something. Is this a problem you have heard of?

sounds like one of the bows isnt wrapped correctly. if the 2nd and 4th bow outer and jnner covers arent wrapped in the correct order it will cause the top to bind as youre describing.
