Windows going down by themselves??
Hey Guys,
Ok this has happened to me a few times last year, and now it happened last night. It seems to happen after I wash my car and put it in the garage. I pull it in, close up the windows and go inside. I come out in the morning and both windows are all the way down?!?! Any suggestions on this? Its very strange, could the Key Remote do this by being pressed in my pocket by accident some how? Maybe my house is haunted lol... |

Hauntings will increase day by day until midnight oct. 31 when all hell will break loose and your Z will transform into a row beast in your garage and terrorize you and anyone associated with you! BEWARE of the ghoul!! Muhahahaahaha! Muuuhahaahahahahaaaaaaaaaaahhhh!!!
Ok seriously, reposition your keys in your pocket. Some fobs are sensative and open the windows for nothing. You might want to consider some type of fob cover to prevent depressing the button. |

The fob is pretty sensitive in my pocket, especially when I'm washing the car for some reason (guess it's just all the extra movements). There have been several times where I surprised myself by accidentally hitting the panic button on the fob while it was in my pocket. If you were carrying buckets or equipment it's possible they could have rested against your pocket where you have the fob, and it could cause the windows to go down.

Ok good. I was afraid a Ghoulie was going to pop out of the toilet and get me lol.
So the FOB does that by holding the unlock button. good to know, solves the mystery hahaha. Thanks again guys... |

Typically it does it in the middle of rain storms, so be warned. Keep the car in the garage

this has been discussed in length before, are you pressing the buttons down without knowing making your windows go down? (ie, in your pocket pressing againts other items)

Ok so my next question is, why dont they go up with the fob? I mean I cant really see any reason to put the windows down using it, but I can see wanting to put them up due to rain or other things...

Safety feature regulated by Law. They can go down remotely without causing harm to anyone but by law they cannot go back up unless actuated by a switch that is in the vicinity of what's being opened closed. It's the same reason that window switchs in cars now are designed so that if something lays on them the window will only go down but you have to physically lift the switch or pull on it for them to go up.

there was at some point a company out there that made a module for the 350 that allowed you to put the windows up with the remote. I have a Vert with the SmartTop module and it lets me roll down/up the windows as well as the top using the factory fob. Second favorite mod on the car...
