Help Needed: Securing 2011 370z Roadster
Hi All,
I'm new to the site, looking forward to be around regularly, lots of good stuff going on.. I've been looking for ways, tips, best practices or whatever piece of information you might have regarding securing your 370z convertible. I recently move to the city and I already had 1 car prowl and 1 other attempt. It seems like they put a wire or something right where the top gets in touch w/ the windshield, I've seen scratches around the visors. Any idea on how/what they are doing (bc the alarm didn't go off) and what can be done to avoid or prevent this? THanks in advance, martu |

Sounds like they are trying to unlock the car with a wire (coat hanger maybe) by fishing it between the top and the window to push the unlock button. Going in through the front top, sounds like they are thinking they can pop the front hatch to unlock the top.
There really isn't much you can do to protect the car from that besides locking it up in a garage at night. You could add a motion alarm, but those things tend to go off a lot.

Viper alarm 3 way with perimeter sensor. Add notification through your phone that notifies you if someone is breaking in.

If you don't have a garage, both of the above. If you are already having issues, it will be worth the investment. If someone screws up your top, it is going to be a pia to get it fixed correctly!

The perimeter sensor is typically called a radar sensor, and it's a MUST for a Roadster. Also, get a battery backup for the alarm and have your alarm installer wire these up to the alarm siren. Make sure he installs those AND the siren. Your car will be so insanely loud if the alarm goes off, people will actually pay attention
