Remember to take a full second between button pushes. Mine did not work at first because I was pushing the button too fast.
|
Yep, and make sure all 3 presses are registering (should see the lights flash with each push, which makes timing about right if you wait for the lights before the next press). Then, you have to wait a couple of seconds for the windows to drop & top to start operating (there is a lag from when you finish the button presses).

Ordered mine, looking forward to installing and having fun with it.:tiphat:

Very easy to customize with the 8 different mode settings. |
Whoop whooop Installed the smart top. Now I feel smart. Man this thing should have been programmed from the factory. I also finally got my remote garage door opener to work. Man are my electrical skills lacking LOL. Mods4cars has a great product here. The only issue I had was the front yellow wire clip slipped and I couldn't find it for about 15 minutes:shakes head: That and I discovered that if you lock the door you sometimes have to unlock the doors prior to clicking 3 times. Working fine:ughdance:

Still no GB on this?

There was an attempt at a group buy last year but SmartTop was not a sponsor for the forum so we were not allowed to post the group buy here and it fell apart. Since then everyone who wanted one has already bought one. It is great, just go ahead and get it. The group buy only saved you about $15 anyway.

Best mod I have! I use it every time I drive!
|
Can an auto body shop install it. I'm not to savy at this sort of thing and do not want to fuc$ it up. Or is there a better source for the install. Thanks
|
Any shop that does radio installs etc. should be able to install it. It is really simple to install the unit, the only minor difficulty is running a wire up to the front passenger side of the cabin to connect the wire that controls the windows. It took me less than 30 min. to do the install myself.
|
It was a really easy install... Did mine in about 45 mins with beer break.
|
Simple and AWESOME!
Rally simple install. Only tricky part was the crimp connectors. One broke and the other had an intermittent connection so I soldered the wires. Total install time including soldering was about 30 minutes. Now when I leave I open the top before leaving the building and viola! Nice cool interior (except that damned black Nismo shift knob...man does it get hot in the sun). I love the looks on passers by faces when the top opens and ere is no one in the car.
Love it! |
Does anyone/any shop install this in the Los Angeles/SoCal area?
|
the guys at al& eds on la cienega and the 10 freeway do a lot of littl electrical mods for me in the past. this should be a piece of cake for them.
