Clean the rear window

Has anyone cleaned the rear window by opening the top, then stopping the top at some point, to get access to the window? If so, could you explain the process?

Tried to find a spot with the top, but no luck. Best I did was move both seats up all the way and use the space to get in and work my towel around. Good thing is that there just isn't too much surface to cover.

Thanks whealy, sounds like the best way to get the job done.

I just straddle the center console with the passenger seat all the way back and reach in there with a microfibre misted with glass cleaner. Kind of awkward, but it works.

Stop the top somewhere that vertical your rear window and you will see your window is just behind the rear console cover. Slide your microfiber under the cover and then wipe it as you need.

Some good ideas here, thanks guys. I am going to try to clean the rear window tomorrow if time permits. But whenever I do it, I will post how things went to the Forum. Thanks again guys.

Try one of these unless you have real thin, long arms.

Thanks for the info and I appreciate the link. It looks like it will really do a good job of cleaning glass with the microfiber bonnet, then polish it up with the multi-purpose bonnet. I had the neighbor kid clean it for me this time, but he's kid's growing like a weed and by next year, I'll be back to square one, so I'd better order this thing now! LOL

I had my windows tinted and fortunately the guy that did it was built like an anorexic French model! He was not impressed with the engineering job on the rear window access.

I was just able to do this while checking if I had frayed wirewraps per the newest TSB (I don't, they are wrapped tightly with heavy black plastic).

Anyway, stop the roof open/close when the rear window when the window panel is exactly vertical. As jesters said, there is a loose-fitting cloth/cover that you can easily get underneath which will be at the inside of the window.

You'll need to do it on both sides of the car.

Just did it, and it works great! VERY easy to clean the window. Thanks for the tip.
