I like the thought of a hardtop. Have you followed the panoramic top thread? I think that would be easier if you where starting from scratch as opposed to making a coupe a t-top or targa.

There is not enough interest for te panorama roof. Granted a few people want it however, as a product it wouldn't sell. Too many people are scared of molding their cars due to a lack of knowledge of the car itself.

I understand Bullitt. Do you have any estimate on retail price? Is you thought for the top a folding hardtop or a removable hardtop? I'm not sure how a removable hardtop would mount. I realize you are in the very early stages but I have to plan major mods early LOL

Oh and I think a hardtop might be the way to get the car accepted on trackdays as most tracks are shy of soft top convertables.

I hate to click yes or no on the poll. I have thought several times that I would like to have a removable hard top for the winter months. Usually when I see an S2000 sporting one.
Problem for me is that I just don't know where that $2k dollars would fall into my mod list. I still have a few high dollar items on the list for my TT as well.

Had to vote no....
I live in NE and the Z will go to sleep for the winter months. She's a daily driver for the summer and whenever its nice out. Our primary car is a Corolla that is driven every day. For some I know the Z is their only car and a hardtop makes good sense. For many the Z is a 2nd or 3rd car, especially a roadster. Most people in NE that drive nice classic or specialty cars such as this have a winter beater. My guess is that anyone in the upper half of the country or anywhere you see even a small amount of snow would do this. I don't see putting Blizzaks on a Z. |

2k or there abouts would seem reasonable to me. I'd want to confirm that it comes off reasonably easily without scratching. Personally, I'd be very interested in a one piece (whatever would be lower cost) that would mount securely. Myself, I would'nt be interested in anything fancy like panaramic that would increase cost, complexity, or durability. Please keep us updated.

I dont have a roadster but voted yes. So you can take away my vote if this was just for roadster owners. However this is a great mod for someone who want the best of both worlds, and who doesnt want that? =)

It's hard to say yes or no. I think a hardtop would be cool, but much would depend on the details -- would it replace the soft-top completely or could it be mounted with the soft-top in the down position.

I also live in snow country. Due to the lowing and stuff I've done I cannot drive my car in the winter. However if I had a hard top I would drive my car more often and probably one in a while to work. With the soft top I do not trust that if I left it at work somebody wouldn't cut the top to break into it. A hard top would give me a better feeling of security.
