I like both the Roadster and the Coupe, and can appreciate why one would choose the Coupe, and another the Roadster. Among all of the auto manufacturers, Nissan did one of the best jobs of designing both the Roadster and the Coupe. Obviously since I own a 370Z I think it is the best one of all, or I would have bought a different car. These are both serious automobiles, and they both do what they were designed to do very well. But, these cars have different audiences. The Coupe looks like it's going 100 mph just standing still, and has an attitude as if it's saying; "What are you looking at, I'll kick your a**! When the Roadster arrives, you're not surprised when you see it's driver removing his driving gloves as he escorts his beautiful woman into the party at the Yacht club. The Roadster's attitude is; if someone needs their a** kicked, he has "people" who do that sort of thing for him. But, since it is a 370Z, if push comes to shove, he can do the a** kicking himself, if he absolutely has to.

... I think it's a compliment to roadster owners .... Unfortunately, while I have a ZR, I have no "people".

Back from the grave the 9 month old roadster bash thread
![]() Seriously, anyone who likes the coupe must at least like 3/4th of the roadster

i actually like the Roadster's styling more than the coupe which is why i spent the extra money to buy it...in the end it's all a matter of personal preference since both cars are of the same family and you can't go wrong with either considering all the publications say performance is almost identical...it all comes down to if you want the option of being able to put the top down and in terms of performance to price ratio, the 370Z Roadster is the best bang for the buck on the market, bar none...i love my purchase

I agree, the MX-5 is a great looking & a great driving vert -- as a matter of fact, I traded in an '09 MX-5 for my ZR -- it was really fun to drive, had plenty of pep, my biggest problem was fitting in the car -- I'm right at 6' tall, and I felt like the top of the windshield was too much in my sight line -- it was probably the best balanced car I've ever had -- I am however very quickly adapting to my ZR.

A true sports car has no top. The soft top is for keeping the rain out! The difference in overall weight of ZR vs. Z is ~194#. Exactly 20 horsepower (I’m an Engineer) is needed in the ZR for the additional weight to equal the acceleration of the coupe. We all know we can easily get 20 additional horsepower from all the “boy racer” postings. People who think posers are the demographic target for ragtops are either a creative writer wannabe or maybe there are a much deeper issues, maybe with looks! Send in a recent photo and maybe someone can determine if you (&/or wife) should wear a mask!

i'm sure it is! i've always wanted to go but the 3 times i've had a stopover there, i never made it past the airport/hotel area in Narita because not many people there speak a lick of English...trying to navigate the subways without a guide looked impossible! but i definitely want to check out shibuya and shinjuku someday
