Wind deflector
1 Attachment(s)
I have modded my site sticker and would like to put it on the wind deflector. Does anybody know how to remove the wind deflector? As you should know it is the clear window behind the roll hoops. Is it easy? Here is the pic of the sticker. :ughdance:

:icon18: I get it
I haven't taken mine out or anything but I imagine it's probably screwed onto the two hoops with some clamps or something. Pop the plastic covers off and it's probably pretty obvious/ easy to get off. Although I don't know how much of a pain the covers are, my guess is they just snap together so a little gentle prying and you should be on your way. But again this is all speculation, but everything is snapped together these days right :) |
I'm wondering if they might be secured in using something like windshield glue. I'll look at it this afternoon, just don't want to break anything.:ugh2:

http://mail.yimg.com/a/i/mesg/tsmileys2/33.gif Could be, it does have the same sort of etching (or whatever) on the edges as you would find on the windshield. I'll be interested to find out
|
I think that might be unserviceable and hence can't be removed or at least very easily.
|
I looked this afternoon and it didn't look promising. I'll just have to align my sticker as best as I can with it still on the car.:shakes head: Or I could put the sticker on top of the windshield. Have to check the sweep of the windshield wiper.

off topic but i actually tinted my wind deflector and i love it lol, didnt have to take it out

That would be kewl. I applied the modded sticker(modded the sticker more LOL) to the top of the deflector and it looks good, how much does the tint make the z emblem stand out? Any pics?

Freaking Pebble
Had a :shakes head: pebble land on the outside of the wind deflector for my entire trip to Arizona. Vibration assisted the :shakes head: pebble in digging into the paint. Have to remove the deflector to make repairs. Does anybody know how to remove the wind deflector?
|
When I had my 350z and got it tinted, the guy unscrewed/unhooked the door pins for the windows to stop moving up and down.

Sorry to be a necromancer, but it's been three years and still nobody has posted how to remove the wind deflector, so here you go.
First separate the two halves of the cover by prying the front one off. This will break most of the tabs in the cover so be prepared to buy a new one. Then there are three Phillip's head screws that will need to be removed to release the back half of the cover. Then there is a 3/8' nut and a 3/8" bolt that have to be removed from the bracket that secures the deflector, once these are off the deflector can have one end moved towards the back of the car to clear the stud, then just pull it out of the other side. http://i1272.photobucket.com/albums/...ps0ccbaf03.jpg |
370 decals
At least he got his decals. I've asked three times, and still nothing.
