wiring rear fog light as brake light

I've spent an hour searching for the post showing pics of this easy install on a '09 or '10 roadster, including the DIY, roadster, and interior and exterior forums. I have the light from the Z store and can follow existing posts on removal of the butt plug, so I need the wire locations and connections. (I saw the post before so I know its here somewhere). Anyone have the link? Thanks.

The third link you listed is excellent, although not done on a roadster, his pics and what I'm seeing look the same.
I am stuck trying to remove the flat plastic panel that goes across the back of the inside trunk, to get access to the wire from the light installed at the factory. I removed 4 plastic fasteners and loosened the emergency trunk release ( no fasteners seen on it) but the piece is holding very firm on the top edge. It won't budge. I can't feel any more fasteners underneath but something is holding it. There is nothing under the molding. Anyone know how to remove this piece?

I finished installing and wiring the rear fog as a brake light. It took longer than I expected.
My suggestions:
-Start by following the step by step instructions posted by Simota1 http://www.the370z.com/diy-section-d...p-install.html don't use the wiring suggestions
-Jack up the rear to get headroom underneath
-The plastic fastener directly under the light is larger than the others - keep it separate
-after installing the new light, plug the wire plug on the car into the new light plug
-You cannot remove the rear interior trunk panel unless you pull up all the rubber molding on the trunk rear - it goes back easily
-The light orange and black wires from the fog light plug come out in the trunk to the right of center as you look down together with about 7 other wires - all black go to ground - leave those as is
-splice a piece of #20 wire to the light orange( I didn't cut it for fear of some functionality for this wire)
-Important!! Simota1 says when removing the taillight move it forward, not up. This is backward! The light slides straight BACK on the car to remove. Don't forget to remove the interior nut.(Push forward to re-install the light)
- remove the taillight wire plug, remove the tape, find the light green wire, and splice your hookup wire to it without cutting it
-route your hookup wire behind the rear trunk wall and out the rubber grommet where the wire from the fog light plug emerges in the trunk
-when removing the wire shielding be careful - Nissan used some extremely light wire for these lights. I used a razor knife fearing a wire stripper might cut the wire
-I soldered my connections

Good luck. Send a message to me if you have questions

Wiring

I see this is a very old post but I ordered the EVO-R Rear Fog/Brake Flashing LED Kit, Smoked, 09-14 370Z which can be seen here Motorsport! EVO-R Rear Fog/Brake Flashing LED Kit, Smoked, 09-14 370Z - The Z Store! Nissan-Datsun 240Z-260Z-280Z-280ZX-300ZX(Z31/Z32)-350Z-370Z Parts and all it came with was a paper that shows the 3 wire connections.
New light - Tail light
Black - Black
Red - Red
White - Green
The problem is my 2010 370Z Tail light has 5 wires, Green, Black, Blue, Orange, and Off White. The correct connection is
Black - Black
White - Green (Flashing Brake)
Red - BLUE (Solid running lights)

I figured I would post this in case someone else goes looking and can not find the correct wiring and help them not have to play the guessing game like I had to.

Thanks for the response. Yeah I actually prefer the look of this one over the OEM one. Plus you get the addition of the backup light (which may actually help at night).

Just trying to decide if I want to do it (I go back and forth between "It looks cool" to "I will never get to see it because I am driving":eekdance:)
