Did you get a jack?

I bought my Roadster used and just noticed today that I have a tire iron but not a jack. I do not have a spare, just the fix-a-flat kit. Is this standard or did the previous owner keep it? Where can I get one? I guess I'll check AutoZone this weekend.

Is there a spot for the tire??? Might be a roadster thing since there's less cargo room. OOOO Roadster guys time to chime in.

The roadster has an option for a full spare because some locations require one, but the default is not to have one, and that means not having the tools either, including jack.

Well, not really. Based on my recollection, some BMW models only have the fix-a-flat. It is not about cost, rather space issue and practicality.

BMW 1 series have no spare tire instead you get run-flat tires which cost alot more $$$.

My roadster came from a dealership in MD where a spare is required so my paperworks says I have one. I haven't pulled up the carpet so I don't know what is there. I will take a look tomorrow. One of those things I keep saying I am going to do and get distracted... :excited:

OK, so I couldn't wait. Went out and checked out the trunk. Here is what the roadster with a spare looks like...

Thanks for the picture BeachZTT. I spent about two months thinking about buying this kit directly from Nissan. I always wondered what it would look like.

I decided not to get it after I found that when the damaged tire needs to get replaced you have to put the damaged tire behind the passenger's seat because it will not fit inside the trunk.

In California a spare is not required. My $46,000.00 roadster does not come with a spare but with some fix o flat... Not sure how that helps if the tire blows out...

vipor 10-04-2010 12:55 PM

yes.

My california roadster has no spare either, just a fix flat kit
I think they want another $500 to add a spare
They said this is not only to help bringing the cost down but also make it lighter and compatable to other high performance cars out there

Do you know what goes in the foam in the center there on the wheel? Does anybody know what the Velcro straps on the right of the tire are supposed to be there for?

I'm not going to worry about not having a spare tire but I would like to have the jack in there, should I just get it from my dealer or is there a website or somebody on here that can get factory parts for a good price? I need the jack and I guess the handle, what ever that is directly above it in this picture.

In North America, the foam centre doesn't come with anything afaik. Other parts of the world probably get nifty tools!

Yeah, I'm very curious as to what those may be though
