My 370Z Roadster

UPDATE: JULY 2011:

Custom 370Z Progress:

Instead of starting a new thread I thought I would use the first one I created when I got the car.

Here are some pics of my recent mods on the car:

Other Painted Stuff inside the Car (I am covering the tops with leather, they will be back on soon.):

370Z Custom Triple Meter

Planned Modification:

- More Carbon Fiber but this time I am doing it myself. I started doing the part that holds the windows knobs.
- Piano Black paint for everything that is around the radio button and GPS.
- More Red matched paint on silver stuff inside the car and the silver inserts on the cover of the roll bars.
- Custom Upholstery.

I will update once I have all of this done.

Thanks to Alex at 180 Customs, to Carbon Fiber Elements and Carlos at Johns Customs for their great work.

I had started this thread just a few days after getting my 2010 370Z Roadster.

I thank everyone here for being friendly and helpful. This site has helped me a lot in my choices.

Below is the OLDER part of the thread started in August 2010:

The car:

Stillen G3 Intake: Definitely feels the car breathes better. Worth it!

Stillen Exhaust: The sound is amazing for the car... Changes the whole driving experience especially with the rev matching option.

Congrats on the purchase!

Stillen g3 intake and Berk CBE IMO.

Joebarchuck 08-09-2010 05:29 PM

Thanks.

Does it void warranty to get either two?

zZSoCalZz 08-09-2010 05:39 PM

Not 100% sure but I don't think they do.

zZSoCalZz 08-09-2010 05:40 PM

I think I read on this forum that if the CAI or CBE leads to a failure it does void warranty but if they DO NOT directly cause a failure having them does not void warranty.

Joebarchuck 08-09-2010 05:48 PM

Did you notice a difference in between stock and the Stillen G3 intake? I mean in terms of acceleration and sound?

zZSoCalZz 08-09-2010 06:24 PM

Sound kicks in at around 4k RPM and thats when it kicks so acceleration after 4k RPM is noticeable.

Whatever springs you buy will have the same lowering effect on the roadster as it would with the coupe. I have the Eibachs and I think they're perfect. Many people on here including myself will also suggest you get wheel spacers. I have 15mm on the front and 20mm on the rear. Here are some pics of my setup

I also have the Stillen Intake and Exhaust and I love the combo!

Good luck and congrats!

congrats on the roadster and welcome to the forum.

Aftermarket parts doesn't void warranty unless they prove that the specific part is the cause for the problem. Just avoid the headaches and find a mod friendly dealership or make sure you are friendly to the service manager :)

Congrats and welcome!

Looks great! Thanks for posting your drop/spacer setup pics. That is what I plan to do. Kinda waiting for the Swift springs but we will see. Probably going to do a Gen3 and FI exhaust.

Thank you for all your advice. Craniac, I think your mod looks great.

Do you feel more power and torque, much better sound with the Stillen exhaust/Intake combination?

I just would hate spending the money for no reason, I really want it to add sound and power.

Again thank you for all the comments.

Thanks! :tiphat: The Stillen combo definitely pulls harder than stock, and the sound is outstanding. It's much louder than stock, yet still tasteful, and the car just breathes so much better. From idle to around 5k RPM, the exhaust growls nicely, then after that the amazing sound of the intake kicks in...it's addicting! Well worth the cost, in my opinion.

Great info. I am doing it next week. I live 40 miles from Stillen's shop so it's easy for me to have it done by them. They ask for $99.00 per hour of labor which is more than my local shop but I am thinking it's worth it as they must know what they are doing.

Does stillen offer any warranty on their parts? I understand gen 3 air intake needs to be installed in the front bumper. How do I go about cleaning the intake filter every 15K?
