Default Cleaning compartment for folding top

When the top folds down I notice that they are some areas that need cleaning - especially around the edges were dirt gets in.

Is there a way to do this without doing any damage - ie., can we stop the top fold process mid way and clean inside the opening?

Also I want to hear how good or bad the rear speakers sound when the compartment is not closed, thinking about a possible upgrade.

Just let go of the button when it is half way through and the process will stop. May be easier to do when you are standing outside of the car.
