SUSU -- it is my interpretation of both conversations with my dealer as well as the "omission" in the owners manual that the external door button option is only for opening the top. Heck, until I read your post, I wasn't even aware of THAT option, but I'm a systems engineer -- reading the manual is something I rarely do....
