actually that is incorrect...on page AV-209 of the service manual we have our dual woofers behind our seats

i wonder how differently this sounds compared to the coupe which have them in the trunk and why they decided to do it this way

My guess would be that the trunk in the coupe is open to the cabin vs. the trunk is separate from the cabin of the roadster and that is why nissan made the switch for the roadster.

Rasengan,

Did you notice that the Owner's Manual refer to them as woofers, and not subwoofers?

yes i noticed that too...however, Nissanusa.com has this listed as a spec:

"Eight speakers, including dual subwoofers"

not a big deal though, all subwoofers are woofers...a subwoofer is just a subclass of a woofer that handles the lower frequencies

at first i was just scared that mine didn't come with the subs because i didn't see them in the trunk! i thought they had been stolen or were missing from factory so i had to figure out where they were in the Roadster

^^ I’m thinking maybe this is a better “woofer” location than in the coupe!! Can’t wait to check this out when my ZR arrives in the US of A….

thank toc2rta for this, he bought the manual and then posted it's pdf:

http://www.cmw.me/AV.pdf

ps - i don't suggest printing this out...i did double sided and it was still an inch and a half thick! but it's a good read!

Big Thanks….BTW….can you also get the pdf diagram of the folding top? I’m most interested in installing the auto dim mirror/homelink mirror and having the diagram of the windshield’s soft-top assembly unit would be most helpful before my roadster arrives! And the fog light wire diagram…..rumor has it that it’s pre-wired…….Thanks again….

I inspected mine in detail on last monday. I was first also a little bit confused. But the dealer told me that they are inside. I think this is great because you can put out the rear wheel aid kit (polystyrene) for some extra space.
This means extra girlfriend luggage with the option to supress unwanted chatter effectivley

i hear ya...someone should make some kind of tray that will fit in the trunk when you take out the polystyrene...there is a LOT of wasted space back there! the only thing there is the tire iron, a tow hook, and the tire repair kit plus a whole lot of polystyrene...the trunk could be much more efficiently spaced

The dead space where the spare goes is huge! Someone should make a kit which would include a molded insulated carpet insert and small storage bin for the tire repair parts and make it professional looking as the factory trunk trim is.

Remove the three large foam inserts and it nearly doubles your trunk volume! I am investigating having a carpet insert custom molded for it to appear factory finished.

yes the amount of foam back there is astonishing...Nissan could have easily advertised a larger trunk space had they efficiently made use of the space...you are right, the trunk space could be nearly doubled just by taking all that foam out and leaving a small compartment for the tools and tire repair kit
