which one to buy? the Infiniti G vert or the 370Z vert?

The G is *very* heavy, longer, has more interior space, mechanical HT...its a top down grand touring platform. I would take one over a Lexus, but that is my personal opinions.

Roadsters as defined, are of the 2 seat top down ilk. Historically roadsters lacked a permanent top. I was not born in the era where some 2 seaters had removable tops and such (Jag, MG, others I suspect).

Modern definition is a bit more relaxed, but its the Miata/MX-5,ZR, Solstice, Boxster (arguably) etc...the ZR to me is porky but I come from the land of 2100 lb roadsters so I like lightness.

Comments about a cars gender demographics and/or the drivers sexual preference may make you feel special inside but they lack intelligence and sometimes expose latent insecurities.

I've heard it all. I drove a yellow MX-5 for 13 years. Still miss that car. If you love to drive, you really should own a well sorted miata at some point in your life. I'm not a chick. I'm not a hair dresser. I don't like dudes (in that way). Just a DINKWAD with an engineering degree that can find the goodness in any sporting vehicle cause its fun. Regardless of who you are or what you do, if you like driving and are driving a fun car that's all that matters to a car nut.

ha ha, I haven't bought a vert yet. In fact, on MYG37 I just asked the question, "which hardtop convertible to buy?"

I've had some great lease offers, but have been trying to hang on to my $$ I guess. I've turned into a 'serial car negotiator.'

I have a Miata I bought in 1989, and really want a hardtop, but no room in the garage since my G37x sedan and Miata are in there. I'm even looking at a new Miata since I began autox in my old Miata.

When I look at the 370Z roadster, and start pricing it out, might as well buy the G, which is more for the $$.

Hahaha. Yeah your handle is beginning to look familiar now.
It really boils down to what you really want (hard top vert) and what you will or won't be willing to compromise on.
Do you want that top down feeling with the security of a hardtop etc.
Will you care to track/autocross? then may want to reconsider due to weight. FI makes up for the weight somewhat as it's been done with a supercharged vert G vert. If the miata is the dedicated track car, and the G vert is just for general daily or weekend only enjoyment then it's an easier decision. If it's nimble you are looking for in a hardtop that's a two seater only the the BMW Z4 and the new Miatas are the other options I think. If the hardtop is not a must have then the 370Z roadster, although I prefer the 350z roadster styling with the top down.

I mean the G vert is just so utilitarian with the back storage space (notice I did not say back seats)

Love my 370z roadster, I am an old geezer but loved all my verts, starting with my 1st, a 66 gto, 389, 3 deuces, hurst 4spd, 2nd, a 68 428 stingray, duel side draft quads, headers, side pipes, 21" mickey thompsons, 535 h.p., my 3rd, a 2005 chrysler crossfire, my 4th, a 2009 saturn ruby red sky redline special edition, my 5th, a 2012 370z touring roadster. also forgot, my 63 impala ss, and my 69 t-bird. All these where purchased new, all where convertibles and just about everyone had balls of steel. i did not even mention the numeross coupes owned. for all you naysayers about verts not having balls, or are for women, my vette would do 200 mph and better so get your heads out of your butts, the fastest vette in town was a vert owend by a foxy blonde, she had written on both doors in, very nice pink letters, " If you can beat me, you can eat me" many a man tried, including me and no one I know, ever beat her, at the dragstrip or on the backroads! So don't be so hard on women.

I traded in my G sedan for this...

2012 Corvette GS Coupe in Carlisle Blue Metallic (a one year color)

LOVE IT!
