Roadster stuck open lid locked and cables don't work
 

Got a 2010 with top issues no surprise there. My original issue was the guide brackets were bent closed. Fixed that.

Then Randomly the warning light would come on. Pulled fuse drove for a while put back and was fine.

This week went to open the top and it got about 3/4 into the storage area and then lost power to the switch.

No leaks, no freyed wires. Turn the car off and was able to assist it all the way down. There was a pop as it went all the way down. Closed the storage lid went about my day.

It's gonna rain so went to manually close it but the lid is locked and the cables don't release it.

I pulled the bolts on the back of the lid but can't pull it off. Pulled the pillar by the speakers but can't access anything since the top is in there.

Now I don't know what else to do so I can get the lid open.

You need to pull really hard on those cables. Almost to the point you think you are gonna break something. You might break the cables but that’s how it is designed.
