Yes the nissan gold preferred extended warranty covers all the roof components. They replaced my roof and hydraulics under it.

I have what may be a dumb question, but here goes. I've watched the videos from Top Hydraulics - excellent resource. I did not see any info on the best way to bleed the hydraulic system after repair/replacement of components. Is there a right/best way to bleed the air out of the system?

The system will self bleed. Just make it go up or down and add fluid as needed. A couple times will probably do it. |

have an update on the fix
received a call from my dealership about the 5th bow roof fix. Nissan is starting to schedule appointments for people to come in to get this finally fixed. since the bulletin has not yet been shared with the dealers, the Nissan engineers are flying out themselves. I got my appointment scheduled for mid-August. We'll see if this is the final permanent fix for this nightmare of an issue. LOL |

Good luck to all guys with your booking, hope it works out well for you all. Can't wait to find out the details. Please find out as much info as you about what they do, can parts be ordered in from Nissan to fix yourself etc. Thank you Last edited by Rodd; 08-12-2019 at 07:53 PM. |

Got my car back. All the fix is is a different bungee. One with 100lb of pressure. It does work- new bungee makes it snap back with force. Downside, whatever they did screwed up the roof trim. I'll post photos.

See attached photos.
The trim on the roof is messed up on both the driver side and passenger side. Driver side - the rubber piece on the roof that presses on the body of the car to prevent any water from coming in is now being pushed out - probably due to the 100lb of pressure the new bungee is exerting.. Passenger side - the rubber piece on the roof that presses on the body of car is all wrinkled. Will probably let some water in if rains hard. Also at the top, the roof piece is protruding. Rear - noticed the rear is not pressing down as hard on the lid, there is now a gap. Some water may possibly get in….. Last edited by vman12; 08-14-2019 at 12:01 PM. |
