Finally a Fix For Top Not Working?

I've been without a working convertible top for a year now & I miss it dearly! Has anyone finally discovered the true cause of this happening and is there a solution? I have already invested 1000s of dollars, including the 5th bow sensor with no luck.

Summer is coming soon!

Going by threads I've read, a pinched wire is often the problem.

Wow, if it is something simple like this it will be a miracle! I will take it back in to have them check this - thank you!

HillCrestTop,

You need to watch ALL of the 13 videos that an Oregon company, Top Hydraulics, has posted on YouTube on our 370Z Roaster convertible top issues. They are excellent, and will explain where and why almost all top problems occur on our cars.

Their company rebuilds the hydraulic parts of the top system with better than original seals and hoses, etc., and go through what is required to remove and replace the various items within the videos.

There is even a video on how to find the offending electrical issue (broken wire?) by tracing the pin outs from the top computer.

Even if you aren't a decent backyard mechanic, armed with their videos on a laptop and a factory service manual (many of the guys here have an online copy of it ), a good local convertible top repair shop should be able to correct most top problems, even if they've never done a 370Z Roadster before.

So don't give up, do some research, and you may be able to solve your top problem.

Can you be more specific when you say the top is not working? Is it getting stuck at a certain point when opening or closing? Is it not closing or opening?
