Why do the roadsters not have a factory spoiler like coups?

No idea. You'd have to ask someone on the design team; it is odd but then designers often are ;-). I have a tiny little lip spoiler on mine and it makes a massive difference to the look. That said, I do like the Spolier Solutions tail, but here in the UK the 370Z it too rare for aftermarket stuff like that. Boo, hoo

My guess: Convertibles are for cruising. Most verts aren't driven fast enough to really need a spoiler.
My guess #2: The general public doesn't like the way a spoiler looks on a vert with the top down.

Has to be from an areodynamic standpoint. The one thing I've always found odd was that I prefered the 350z roadster to the 350 coupe, but with the 370 it's the opposite. I think the roadster wouldn't look bad with a spoiler. Maybe a low slung style to help accentuate some of the 370 thickness or width.

I HATED the bubble butt look without spoiler on my Roadster. Found a spoiler on ebay for 285 that came painted. Matched perfectly and installed myself. Love the way it looks now

I was thinking about how the roadster needed a spoiler when I was in the market for one. But now that I have one, Im falling more and more in love with the "bare @ss" look. But *J*ap***V*et* brings up a great point that I didnt really think about, how the spoiler would affect aerodynamics. I suppose that with the top down, the wind turbulence caused by the open cabin would negate the effects of a spoiler, unless your wing came off of a Boeing 747

Lip Spoiler
From a UK supplier but I brought one pre-painted for my old 350Z Roadster from Thailand off eBay. Arrived in three days.
