Nissan's extreme fix

I closed my top and after it was closed I noticed something sticking out of the top on the passenger side (top center, where the window meets the top.) It's a plastic guard of some sort, so I pull it out from between the fabric top and the weather striping. (See pics). They had it half a day and let me know that they are replacing the ENTIRE top, frame, bows fabric and all!!

Per Nissan, that plastic guard is not serviceable and will require this!

I'm scheduled for the replacement next week.
