Who Puts Their Z Away For The Winter?

4 Attachment(s)
I'm about 90 days into owning my first Z - bought it at beginning of Nov and thought I'd have to put it away immediately - but, we got an extra month of beautiful summer/fall weather - so, just now putting it away (sad face)

Clay barred. 12 Month paint sealant. Car cover. Will be inside.

Plan on starting it once a week or so - if nothing else just to sit in it and listen to it idle! (happy face)

Anything else/special I need to know? Anything else I should do?

Thanks in advance all!

Winter storage has been discussed a LOT on this site. If the site's search isn't finding what you want, go to any major web search engine and add "site:the370z.com" to your search string. Eg, winter storage site:the370z.com

Don't have to down here in Florida, I couldn't take not driving it for months out of the year. If it's not raining I have the top down.

Mine is all set. Been in hibernation for 2 weeks now. I miss driving her. Don't forget to follow the link above for tips on how to put a car in storage for winter.

I put away my Corvettes for about 5-6 months at a time. All I do is top off the fuel tanks and hook up a float charger to each. I suggest leaving the engine alone as combustion products contain water which will not evaporate if the oil temperature does not reach a certain level and a certain amount of time. Idling the engine at extended amount of time also creates carbon deposit.

Gentlemen,

Yes, I put my toy away about a month ago, and I've had withdrawal symptoms ever since.

:iagree:
I've stored many vehicles over lots winters. Don't over think it. Change the oil. Check the anti-freeze. Put the float charger on. Leave the key in the keygina. Wait for spring.

We in the South know not of such practices..

I store mine in the winter months, I always put it and my motorcycles on a battery tender and top off the gas tanks. Other than that just clean, wax and cover her up!

Same here in the UK. We have a temperate climate, so luckily the Z can be my daily driver. Haven't need to hit the Snow Mode button once this winter.

I also do not know how I could cope without my daily hit of Z driving. I feel for you winterised people.

This is mine every year from about November through April...in this picture, the cover or the trickle charger are not on yet.
So, every time I go in and out of the garage I get to see this. :(

My Nismo has been in hibernation since mid November. She's clean, has fresh oil and is ready to go as soon as we get through this sh*tty winter of ours. Presently going through our weekly freezing rain storm. Love the Nissan satin cover, by the way.
