Passenger Side Power Window Problem

I've noticed one minor problem with my new roadster; the passenger side window seems to have a "logic" problem!

When you open the door and the window drops a quarter inch or so, it doesn't automatically raise back up when you close the door. In fact, if you keep opening and closing the door the window will work its way completely down.

Likewise with putting both windows down withe the key fob, both windows will roll down fine but if you try to put them up with the actual key in the door lock, the passenger side window won't raise.

The "one touch up" feature also doesn't work with the passenger window but thankfully, the window works just fine, up or down otherwise by using the door panel switch!

I'm going to try the "fix" (http://www.the370z.com/audio-video/8...-installs.html )but if that doesn't do the trick l get it looked at in a few days.

Just thought I'd throw this out there in case anyone else taking delivery of a new roadster notices a similar problem!

It's an old Z bug, inherited by the 370, unfortunately. Take it to the stealership for a warranty job. Good luck.

Nash, try reseting the memory functions. That usually it every time. Stealership...lol

windows down - hold switch down for 10 seconds.
windows up - hold switch up for 10 seconds.

Should be fixed.

Same problem happened to me after i had the speakers installed. Just reset it and it should be fine

bigaudiofanat 11-16-2009 01:34 PM

I agree with the reset. Try it that should fix the problem.

Robert_Nash 11-16-2009 01:38 PM

Thanks everyone...I'll be giving the "reset" a try tonight!

bigaudiofanat 11-17-2009 07:39 AM

Did it work?

Robert_Nash 11-17-2009 09:30 AM

Wow...impatient bunch here! :)

Yes...it worked...that's all the was needed!

bigaudiofanat 11-17-2009 09:39 AM

LOL actually not impatient just wanted to bump a thread because I did not want to see the spam thread. Glad it worked.

koeppelnissan 11-18-2009 08:23 PM

I had to reset 3 Z's yesterday because of this!

SmoothZ 11-18-2009 08:34 PM

So they never fixed the shitty window motors? Dammit!

Robert_Nash 11-19-2009 09:34 AM

This my fifth Z since 2004 and I've never had the problem before and it took all of 20 seconds to fix...I'd hardly call the motors (if it's even the motors themselves in the first place) "shitty".

I replaced THREE power window motors in my 2000 Z28 over a three year period...that's what I call "shitty" (and they sure as hell weren't inexpensive).

Was your Z a 2004 or 2004.5? Makes a difference..

1984 Alfa Romeo GTV-6 power window setup was an ugly thing. Complete with a serpentine cable that wrapped around about eight components. 20 seconds does not sound like a problem to me either, Robert.

Hey btw, I have two black lab/bassett hound mix dogs. You have to see them to believe them...imagine black labs with floppy ears and stubby little legs................
