The soft top is not locked completely, and this may allow
wind, rain and foreign matter to get into the vehicle.

Any feedback on this?
The reason for that caution is that the rear of the top is more or less just sitting there & not locked down. Wind coming in the cockpit could cause the rear to raise up at high speeds.

Are you referencing this area in the rear?

Going back in for the 4th trip next weekend and hoping they can either get it sorted out or replace the entire top assembly under the extended warranty I purchased (thankfully). Quite frustrating but otherwise love the car.
I had trouble with the rubber wearing on the passenger side. They brought out a factory tech to do the adjustments. The fix required a new top. No problems since. 2012 with 18,000 mi. Did your dealer bring in the factory rep? They should have apparently.

My top rubs when putting it up or down. From reading here, it sounds like it is a common problem. I'm thinking there should be a way to adjust it but don't want to screw it up worse than it is. Also, when I put it up, I hear a loud pop when the top stretches out to reach the back. Is this normal? The pop sounds loud inside the car but doesn't sound loud outside.

Here's a video so you can see what I am talking about:

Wow, that really does rub bad & when the rear is dropped to lock in place it goes with a bang. That is what you are calling a pop. Mine when it is set down it goes nice & easy. Not just like a free fall.
Are you still under warranty? It sounds like you have more than one problem. It sounds like you might have some problems with the hydraulics.

Check out this link Hello roadster owners, hope I can help you a with malfunctioning convertible tops
Klaus might be able to help you.

I've got the same issue with my roadster top. I haven't made it in yet, but saw a notice from Nissan that they might be able to adjust the hydraulics or something else to help with the clearance

Actually, the 'pop' sound is what I hear inside when the top stretches out. Not sure what makes that sound. I guess I should make another video today so you can hear what it sounds like inside the car.

Update! I took the car back to a dealer for repair under warranty. They said they replaced the rubber bungee cords. Now the top works great! No rubbing, no pop when the top stretches out and the lid sets down softer. Now maybe I can relax and just enjoy the car.

Interesting. Looks like now I need to dig through the top section of the service manual looking for rubber bungee cords. I had no idea there were any.

thank you for this link, my wife's convertible top is now stuck in the down position and the trunk wont open. Our local dealer claims there is zero information from Nissan about diagnosing 370z convertible top issues.

Is it definitive build date, after that tops are less prone to break? I read, that from MY2009 to MY2011 are most problematic, but I want to confirm that.

It seems that the number of problems of the newer models are far less, but maybe just because they aren't as old. I haven't had any problems with mine & it is 2 yrs. old. I have my top down most of the time I am out & if I stop at a store I put it up & back down when I come out again. The top has gotten a lot of exercise.

I bought a 2017 model 2 months ago, I had a problem with the top since day one. My problem is when the deck-lid hits/rubs the top when opening, it happens after leaving the top in the closed position for an hour or so. I believe it is related to the top being stretched while in the closed/up position.
I have been to the dealer 3 times so far, in fact the car is at the dealer right now, they replaced the bungee cords and made some adjustments with no luck. Now, they're saying they will most replace the whole top.
