Cooled seats
Anyone tried the heated/cooled seats yet? Do they work well? I live in Florida and my current car has black leather. It is terribly hot in the summer so a feature like this would be a big plus in my book (as long as it actually works)! I have heard from somewhere that the seats whistle annoyingly when they are on.

My dads merc s550 has cooled seats(multi-contour seats) . They're reallly useful and feel nice. Its like an AC under the seats, it doesn't make much noise at all.

Depends on what you go with, some cars with cooling seats are louder than others. Same thing with aftermarket ones all thought I can not confirm that there are any that can be easily installed.

I test drove a roadster with them over the weekend. felt like a big cold pack under my butt and back. was very cool (in both senses of the word); I read that it was loud, but I didn't notice the noise either when turning them on or off. I think it would make a big difference in the useability of the car.

There are 3 models at 2 dealerships here in Mpls. I took a test drive last month at night in the rain and you can hear the seat fan but it's not that noticeable. It looks like it will be over 60 and sunny here tomorrow (a rare event in Nov.) so I'll take a another test drive with the top down. It is a soft rushing air sound like low level pink noise. The advantages far outweigh the noise and you only have it on when you need it. I'm going to place my order in Dec. and the biggest decision for me is the color.

The cooled seats work quite well (especially compared to other vehicles I've had including my M45X)...the "mesh" in the seats allow a lot of airflow. While you can hear the fan, I can't imagine that would would worry anyone driving with the top down (and why would you drive a roadster without the top down) or with the sound system on.
I pick mine up Tuesday morning!!!

Excellent, glad to hear they are functional and not too intrusive. To be honest I think I would keep the seat vents on all the time since I always like to be cool / cold while driving.

If it is the same as in the M35 it is great! I have had it for almost four years now and I couldn't imagine a car that did not have it. In my Infiniti I have never heard a fan?

I wish I had cooled seats in my previous car. We usually average about 95-98F in the summer and 90F during our "cold" months. So I can't wait to get my car...any week now.

I have to admit I envy you guys at times living where you can drive your Z roadster year round. In most years were snow free in Mpls. from April-Nov. so we usually lose only 4 months but I can do without those -20 below zero mornings in Jan. I timing my order to have the car arrive early April. Then my wife and I are off for a few weeks on a road trip around the southeast I can't wait!
