Things To Check (When Buying Used)
All,
I just wanted some feedback from fellow forum members before pulling the trigger on this. 2014 370Z Sport Touring 2,000 Miles $33,000 OTD VIN numbers on all the body panels match. Still has the original tires and they are in excellent shape (as are the wheels). Looked for indications of it being resprayed and/or touched up paint wise and found none. Carfax shows one owner and is clean. Took it for a test drive and didn't have any issues. Oil looks clean. For the most part it looks brand new. The price just seems a bit too good to be true compared to other dealers in the area. Thanks |
If the CarFax came out clean, at least you have some confidence it hasn't been wrecked and isn't a salvage title. That price does seem unusual given the fact that model/package is closer to 40K from what I've seen. If it is at a dealer, that's a plus because the dealer generally isn't going to risk ruining their reputation by doing some funny business under the rug so-to-speak. It's quite possible they're simply trying to unload it as quickly as possible to make room for the 2015's which is sometimes why getting a car at the end of the year can get some good deals. A couple other things you could do, request to see an all points inspection report, if they did one. If not, you could spend a little money and have it inspected by a reputable mechanic, especially if you find one that specializes in Z. Other than that, since it only has 2,000 miles on it, the factory warranty will still be in force which should address and issues that crop up which is a good plus over a much more used model over 30,000 miles. My feeling is, you have a potentially great steal at that price!

Yeah, with it coming to "winter" months they could just be trying to clear it out for, and wait till the '15's come in.

Yeah I guess my main hesitation is its a small dealer and not a large Nissan dealership but then again they have other high end sports cars that are all in good shape.
It is covered under the bumper to bumper warranty I just wonder if it's such a great price because of mechanical issues. But it drives great and the engine sounds good. No issues shifting either. |
See if they'll let you take a sample of the oil. Blackstone Labs has a kit for testing cars before purchase. You can see how the motor is holding up.

Nice deal and you are covered for 3 yrs from original sale date under bumper to bumper warranty. I wouldn't be very concerned. I got a similar deal on mine back in March, sport\tour\nav with 3k miles for $30k OTD but it's a 2012.

Waaaay to much over thinking here, 2000 miles factory warranty...someone probably bought it, realized it was not the car for them took a loss bought a maxima and went home happy. Dealer now has a slightly used Z before winter and wants it gone.
JUST BUY IT!! |
Thanks for the feedback guys I'm going to pull the trigger on Monday.

FYI, I was thinking of dumping my 2014 sport/touring to free up a little cash and KBB and NADA are being generous at $32K and change for private sale in excellent condition. You sir are getting a decent deal OTD.
