2012 Z negotiable price?
Hey all,
I'm looking to buy my first Z and have come across a 2012 base model with 2,900 miles in solid red with black interior. My question is about pricing, the ad online says price negotiable, so what should I start out at? This is a dealer btw. Basically what I'm looking for is what is lowest possible price you think I can squeeze? Also maybe how to get down to that price, negotiating skills aren't that sharp but for a Z I'll definitely try to polish them up lolv:ughdance:. Thanks in advance! |
jrod, what is the price that the dealer is asking ? By posting the price we might be able to help you out a little better.

You should keep looking for one with the sports package. The base is a waste.
|
^ its like you got married and on the night of your honeymoon with her you found out that she has a stick as big as yours!
WtF what have I done!!! So dont make that mistake go for the complete sports package! |

I myself have a base and was lucky enough to find a 2012 7AT, backup cam, and some extra goodies with 19k miles at a rough cost of $28k (this was about 9 months ago before the new Z came out and im in the Chicago area) What kind of price are they offering, and try to compare it to other Z's in your area |

Yeah, the touring package with the Bose and other goodies can be skipped. A base+sport is really the sweet spot for bang for your buck. |
I plan on upgrading the head unit pretty soon and the speakers a little farther down the road. There was no price listed on the internet ad but I emailed the dealer so I expect to hear from them sometime tomorrow. I was trying to see what the average price of a 2012 base would be and some of the better deals anyone has gotten.
LOL well I've never been married so I wouldn't know the pain and suffering that realizing my bride has a manual transmission but what makes the sport package a must more specifically? |
Better wheels, tires, brakes, spoiler and SRM. Also the base comes with an open diff and the sport gets you a VLSD. It's not perfect, but there's no excuse for an open diff in a sports car.
Sure, you could buy a base and install everything but the SRM, but it would cost much more. |
Chucks got the right idea, Lets see what the dealer has to offer and do you happen to have a link to the page?

Hey everyone sorry for the late reply but I got some info on the car and it turns out the post was wrong it was a roadster and I'm looking for a coupe, there's a base 2014 about 30 miles from me for 32k,is that a good price? what do you think I could get that down to?
|
For just a base model I would only pay 31k out the door. Meaning taxes and etc included.
|
Just the car alone people paid 27700 for it which was the lowest. But average was 29500. So you can haggle if you know how or use truecar.com for a locked in price.
|
I wouldn't pay more than 30k
|
we can offer a $2570 discount from MSRP…this would bring your grand total to $29,750 + tt&l. , how does this offer sound on the 2014 base?

He'd be better off with a year old used base+sport if he really wants the best value. |
