Default Any Feedback on Texas Direct Auto?

Hey Guys,

So I'm a long time member of the Site, but not an owner, as I've been slowly saving up, finishing college and settling into my new job, but I am ready to purchase (upcoming months, preferably Nov/Dec) a 370. I see that Texas Direct Auto has quite a few Z's, and I am wary of buying new (don't want to put down $40k for 1st sole purchase). I am out of Charlotte NC, but NEED to buy one out of state since NC has very very sh!tty Nissan Dealers (I've worked with a couple through my first job, and they are VERY shady). So, all in All, I was just wondering if anyone on the forums have any sort of Input on Texas Direct Auto. Ive read reviews on Yelp/Google and even some regarding they've been ripped off by the Dealer etc.

If anyone has any sort of feedback it would be greatly Appreciated

Thanks

J

Buy your car within traveling distance so you can see it Especially when dealing with used cars. I tried to work with them in the past but got blowed off and no phone calls returned. Good luck in your search

Yea, that's my hope to find one close, but there is noone within 500mi with the options I'm looking for (2013+, Touring, Sport + Nav., M6, Any color except Gunmetal Gray, Red, Black Cherry and under 20k Miles)..lol, I know i know, picky, but If im going to drop $30k on my first car (minus trade in & approx $3k down) then I would prefer to get as close to my options as possible. :/

Thank you for your response though.

Living in Houston I get to see & hear all the ads for Texas Direct. Had a few friends buy from them and they were satisfied in the end.
I view Texas Direct as a CarMax but built on eBay, they like to cater to out of town people as they can get you to fly in after putting a deposit down, look quickly, and then buy in that impulse mode.

My caution would be like any used car, making sure it is checked out properly and what they say is 100% accurate to what is listed. They do buy modified cars and do not always remember to list that on their site (the modifications that is), but do try.

Congrats on the purchase.

I've seen Texas Direct Auto cars all over eBay, and have always wondered if they were legit.

I sold my car to Texas Direct.

They gave me $20,500 for it (they automatically beat Carmax offers by $500) and sold it for $24,000ish. So their markup, at least in my case, was not too bad.

The car is Certified (i know it doesnt really matter, but a plus knowing its there), and the pictures that i pestered them to take seem pretty good..BUT..the previous owner did already change the rear tires out to Michelins (car has 16k on odo).so idk how hard he drove it...

JW if you can shed some light on the dealership..Yelp/Google reviews seem iffy at best as they all relate to their Service Dept.

Thanks

They are legit, they made their way via eBay, they have a huuuge dealership in Houston. They also started a new program in Houston (curious if it will spread), you can call them about private cars for sale, ones for sale on the road, driveways, etc. They will call and look at it, if they end up buying it they give you like $50.

I bought my car there and it was the worst experience ever. Started with the first purchse, they listed the car as 14k miles, and it turned out 18.4k when i bought it. And after you paid for the car, any service done is shitty. And the service dept isnt even in synch with sales to help customers, they're all for their own pockets.

....Crap..that's discouraging. Well, I'm gonna try and trust the dealer because, unfortunately for me, i have no other choice as the car is bought now....The car was listed at 16757 miles, the picture that the salesperson sent me has 16698. So..i am going to try and be hopeful...TRY being the operative word.....:/

Thank you for your feedback tho

I think Carmax provides better customer service and will be more patient with buyers.

Texas Direct Auto is more like high volume place. They give little discount from their asking price. Their cars are generally ok but you would still have to check it in person like any other place. If they feel like you are not serious buying their cars, they will move on to the next customer.

My friend sold them an expensive car and the process was painless. Pick up the check (60K+ amount) the next day.
