AMERICANS have it good!
Ok, so I am in the Air force stationed in Germany. I was driving in down town K-town and saw a white 370z in the window of a Nissan dealership. I just ordered one so I wanted to see what white looked like in person.
I walked into the dealership and strait to the 370z. Unlike the states there is no customer service in this country so I was able to check out the whole car with no sales people asking me anything! I mean I had the hood open, the hatch, doors, adjusted the seats and everything! If the key was in it I would have started it for sure! The main thing I wanted to share with you guys is the price. HOLY ****! This was a touring w/sport package, white on black. Here is some pics. THAT IS 69,126.58 USD! -So when you think you might be paying too much for your car, remember how much these poor Germans have to pay!

You have to love that America has such a big market that imported cars are cheaper here than even their own country! I would like to know how much 370z's go for in Japan.
Also, from my 2 recent trips to Europe - everything there is more expensive especially when you considered the Euro is bigger than the dollar too. I think $67k here can buy a slightly used GT-R |

most of the difference is in taxes. The European governments don't like big engined cars.

Some guy from Hong Kong essentially said the same thing. New 370's are over $60K USD there. He said it has to do with Hong Kong's Gov limiting the number cars on the road, the physical size of the car, the tariff, and so forth.
The U.S. is the land of abundance, our land is very large to say the least, we have copious resources...It's better for Nissan or any import firm to sell more a "commodity" at cheaper prices than to sell for more expensive prices and lower quantitiy. Yep, we got it good. |

In Australia we are paying around $75,000 AU for a fully optioned AT minus the 19" wheels which is about $65,378 US. So yes, Americans have it good when it comes to cars.

lots of good info!
I did not realize we had it this good until all the replies! WOW! The exchange rate is low right now at 1 euro to .65 USD! Germans do pay the 19% tax on everything and they also pay per liter of there engines.
I don't think the 370z is that big of a deal when it comes to that considering they drive BMW, Audi, Porsche, etc. But they do pay for it!
