I just bought a like-new, red, 2010 370Z A7 convertible with 16k miles. It is fantastic, of course.
The dealership wanted me to pay $28,000 + $1,500 to be "certified pre-owned". After negotiating for several hours, I drove out of there paying $24,000 which included the certification (extending the warranty until 2020). Taxes/tag/title were not included. Winter approaching soon may have been a factor. I think this car was priced too high to sell quickly, so it was on the lot for several months. Since this wasn't my first time buying a car, I got financed through my own bank and showed up with a check made out to the dealership for $22k. I believe this is a good strategy for getting the price you want. I don't think they were going to do $22k for this car, but jumped for just 2k more. Was this just an okay deal or a great deal? Thoughts? Last edited by Jpeg; 09-16-2014 at 09:53 AM. |
