Will 2013 and 2014 new Z prices drop when 2015 arrives?
The price of a 2014 370Z base coupe still hovers over $30k and ocassionally, there are some advertized at between $29 and $30k. The prices announced for the 2015 base coupe remains the same. Thus, when the 2015 arrive at dealerships, will the 2014 price drop? To what?

I do not know. It may depend somewhat upon wether the new Z is a four cylinder or not and the similarity of performance between them.

I don't think they will drop unless they can't sell them. They sell for what they sell. *shrugs*

price drop
Probably the price of the prior model year cars will drop when the '15s come out, but I would think no more than usually happens when any new model year comes out.
The biggest factor influencing prior model year values will be replacement of the current model with an all new Z, but who knows when that will be. If the new Z is a big hit, especially with current Z owners, expect the price on the current model to drop more, since there would be lots of trades and a flood of current model used Zs on the market. If the new Z is a hit with non Z owners and not current Z owners, then it wouldn't seem the price of current models would be so affected. It seems to me the Zs hold their value pretty well anyway. When you consider the strong resale values of the prior model 350z, the current model 370Zs prices are partially being held up by those 350 prices. If an '07 or '08 350z with decent miles still brings mid to high teens , then as long as that's the case the '09s and '10s are going to stay in the upper teens to low $20s, and the newer ones above that. As a potential 370Z buyer, resale is one factor I've been considering, and I'm satisfied that if you buy the car right and don't overpay, then depreciation won't be all that much over a few year time period. Now that I reread the OP's original post, it seems like he is asking about 2014 NEW car prices after the '15s come out. So I would say yes many dealers will be discounting the '14s more heavily than now once the '15's come out. I'm watching the cars for sale on Autotrader regularly, and I expect this fall maybe Sept but for sure by October, to start seeing bigger discounts on the '14s. In addition a lot of dealer, especially in the north, aren't going to want to sit on a 2014 sports car through the winter. Last edited by andyj; 08-13-2014 at 10:58 PM. Reason: more comments |

When I contact them, none of tghem would sell it to me for under $28,595 plus taxes and title etc. |
