Round 2 With The Dealership

Alright so I just went back for a second session with the dealership, came out ok in a sense.

Base 6spd
sport package
kickplates
front and rear mats
splashguards

$31,984
$500 licensing and title
$2000 tax
$599 dealer service fee

$35,000 otd

The dealer I was saying that he can't go any lower because he's only making $100 commission off of it. I understand that and I feel like I'm robbing them in a sense, but I don't see how they can't go any lower?

I'll probably go to dealer B and ask them if they can beat that deal, if not then I'll whip out the employee discount and see how much that is.

I'm trying to go for $31.5k for the car, possible? no?

Suggestions, I need them... I'm so close ugh...

Thanks again guys.

OK, but I promised that I wouldn't respond to these kinda threads, but this time's OK.

I hope you mean $31,500 + applicable fees. Get it at this price. And you know what you do next? Just give the guy $200 cash on the side and he'll vouch for you to get the 370 at $31.5K. These poor guys don't like making mini's, so you complement the mini so that he can make $300 total.

It's okay since I baited you :icon17:

Bibimbap 09-12-2009 09:04 PM

Sorry that I posted it up, I'm just super nervous since this is my first car purchase (I've been spoiled before...) and don't feel like i'm getting a good deal.

I did show them edmunds invoice papers, but of course ... We didn't meet that price. So now your saying slide him $200, but I know this sounds so awkward... but how the hell am I gonna approach him with that?

Thanks again for the feedback and responses.

Hey Mr. budget, here's a STEAL.

What if I just ship you one for less?

:iagree: Better deal!

31984 isn't a bad price but $1099 for dealer service fee and license/title seems a bit odd. I believe my dealer fee was $199.

Bumble Zee 09-13-2009 11:01 AM

Yes I vouch for Lou. You should let him ship to you at the lower price.
I was so close of getting the car from him. In the end, I go with the dealer around here because they are desparate to move their inventory around.
All in all, I wish I got it from Lou with only couple of hundred dollar differences. The dealer install factory swirl mark on my car and 2 tiny rock chips even before I pick it up.
Now, it is sitting in their service center for 2 weeks already, and I only own the car for 3 weeks LOL
Word of advice...Look closely for swirls, or else go with Lou

Cjanik 09-13-2009 12:00 PM

Agreed, if Lou can beat his price shipped, most of us on The370z.com can vouch for his trustworthiness if you need us to.

and As for the dealership charging over a grand on licensing/doc/dealer fee's, thats the biggest rip-off I have heard from a dealership as of yet!! I swear never Have I seen such fee's so high! thats just ridiculous. I paid 299 total for all of that at my dealership!

alvinmathew88 09-13-2009 12:30 PM

i say 33k OTD.. no more no less..

I'd be writing a check right now if I could get it for that.

FuszNissan 09-13-2009 01:26 PM

1099 in fees is crazy!

edeeZee 09-13-2009 01:37 PM

I see your profile says you drive a 07 350. Here's what you do: take off "350" badge, replace w/ "370", get some "plastic surgery" done to your 350 (you know those ricers who put Skyline tail lights on their Sentra?) via getting 370 boomerang head & tail lights, and for the synchro rev, just stick your head out window when downshifting and let out a loud: VRRRRROOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!!

alvinmathew88 09-13-2009 05:14 PM

In taxes already they are stretching their numbers by almost another $80-$100, from the price you were quoted. $599 is steep for dealer fees (pure profit), Ive never paid a dealer fee in my life..

When your negotiating, have you tried to talk all driveout prices, rather than breaking everything down. Have tried walking in with VPP pricing, i dont know if robert nash still does it or not? I think they are also smudgin the number of License/registration, I know when i did it in texas last time, on Bill of Sale sheet, it said $120 for me.

Bibimbap 09-13-2009 05:49 PM

I went to Dealer B to see if they would knock a few more dollars off the negotiated price, but the guy I got had no clue what he was talking about. His first mistake was thinking that I was coming in for my first time and offered a test drive, but I told him I only wanted to talk numbers. Secondly, he said that I should get the fully loaded model, but I kindly refused and said I'd be more interested in the base with sport. He told me that would not include the wheels... So the finance manager tried to talk me into financing and getting the fully loaded for only $100 extra a month, I kindly told him my payment was going to be paid in cash. So from that point they said there weren't any other Z's they could locate and I walked out. We'll see what happens tomorrow, maybe Lou will brighten up my day with a blow out deal.

Bibimbap 09-15-2009 04:52 PM

So I got a call from Dealer C saying they could beat Dealer A's price and I would not have to put a deposit down. It was so funny cause he said, "what did they mention before? 31.5k?" and I said "yea" since that was lower than what I was offered and so now they can beat 31.5k so I think I'm going to go visit them!

shabarivas 09-15-2009 05:26 PM

I paid for base + sport a little shy of 34k OTD

Bumble Zee 09-15-2009 06:51 PM

Have you talk to Lou yet?
He offered me to ship the car via flat bed and I could not believe the price that he offer.
Let me put it this way, I have no desire to counter offer his price, that's how low it is.
I am still kicking my *** silly up to this days for not doing it!!!
Just an update, drove back from the dealer with "supposingly" it's been fixed (swirl marks and stone chips)
Got back home and inspect, not only it wasn't fix, they also put a new BIG "S" scratch across the hood that eats the clear coat :(
So really...if you want quality and trust, please go with Lou

That may be true, but some people may prefer to do deals locally.

edeeZee 09-15-2009 08:11 PM

You're never going to get a 370 at a firesale price buddy.

You keep mentioning these comments like it will never happen, but we'll see.

I used to be a car salesman for 3 years at various new car dealers. And uh...there were characters just like you who frequented the dealer, always looking at the same model, etc. They never bought. Once dealers A,B,C...recognize your face and remember your excessive grinding, the salesmen will run as soon as you hit the lot.

See if what I wrote doesn't happen...:icon23:

Cjanik 09-16-2009 06:27 PM

^^ how old are you really? the comments you make and the attitude you have, something tells me the high teens, low 20's? I can bring up 20+ threads with comments like the above.

a picture of a guy mooning? do you take things seriously and personally on here?

your always negative and always willing to be rude towards the guys with the legitimate questions/comments.

I used to sell motorcycles (BMW, Aprilia, MV Agusta, Ducati) and I can certainly vouch for this comment.

We have 4 or 5 customers that we laugh at and try to avoid as they walk the lot for this reason! It's definitely true!
