Dealer Left over under invoice pricing
How reasonable am I being by asking for a dealer left over under invoice? There are a ton of 370z on all dealers lots near me. I'd like to get one for $27-30k. I'd perfer a touring sport but with an invoice price of roughly $35.2k I think that won't happen ($31k). I'd settle for a base with sport package that invoice is roughly $31.3k I'd like to get it for $28-29k.
Has anyone had luck with these numbers? 2010 is coming out soon right? These dealers are gonna have to move 2009s at "losses", right? Please share feedback. thanks |

When I bought mine last week I offered the GM invoice and he immediately agreed. So it is possible for under invoice but getting that much under seems a little unrealistic. Just my 2 cents.

With in reason. I think you are being to aggressive with your numbers. The 2010 Roadsters are coming out soon, but the coupes will be a while. I would just try to get below invoice, maybe a couple hundred, but that's gonna be it. Maybe if the 2011's were out I could see 5k below invoice.

I cant believe what im reading.
Sales must be horrible in the states for dealers to be selling at or under cost. Thats not even heared of up here in Canada. Im a salesman for Toyota. i think its hilarious though when people come in to the dealerships and offer at cost or under and the end up getting kicked out of ever dealer in the provincelol but hey. thats good you guys can do that. cheers, |

Thanks for the feedback. Clearly is very aggressive, but you never know, I'm hoping that Nissan is going to start offering rebates on 09s to dealers as there are so many sitting. Honestly, the one i test drove had cob webs in the wheels, and the battery was dead. The dealer told me no one has come in to look at them, but they weren't too aggressive in offering my a Touring for $33.2. I want to do way better than that. Only time will tell.
I guess more realistic will be to get just a base for $27k. |

^ do you know how frequent and fast spiders make webs? Dead batteries aren't rare at new car lots.
$27K for a base huh? I was driving down on the Freeway in S. Cali and I saw a billboard for a Nissan dealer that offered $7,000 off all new 370's in stock, might as well give them a shot. |

The dealers aren't going to move any "loses" on the 09 Z's, other than heated mirrors, and cabin air filters, the 10's will be the same as the 09's (of course, not the roadsters). But, needless to say, I feel I got a good deal on mine (35K for a sport, touring), but you are unreasonible to think that they are going to go down 3.5K under invoice to move a Z. While dealerships may have some on their lots, it is no more than they planned. Sure, times are bad, but from my understanding, Nissan isn't pumping out as many Z's as they possibly could. 31.5 MAY get you a base with sport, maybe, I think I saw that deal on USAA's car buying service, however, you may run into an issue with the dealer not having that car in stock. Good luck though!
