Just got home with a new 2014 BS Touring, auto, sport package, navigation

Traded in a 2011 Touring auto. The new one definitely has a tighter ride with the sport package.

Ended up paying $38,700 for the car. Not sure if thats good or not but when you live out in the middle of the desert the choices are slim for dealerships.

but with a trade, unless you're an experienced buyer, you don't really know what you paid.

Congrats!

Agreed

Agreed. I spent about 3 months researching what the new car should cost on all the usually websites, and this forum certainly helped greatly. We started out by the dealership showing me the invoice for the new car and I paid $200 over that number. Then we negotiated the price of my trade. I got 72% of the original price of the 2011 on the trade. I had wanted 75% but couldn't get them to that number. So I guess we never know exactly how we did in the purchasing but overall I'm okay with the cost of the new car. Thanks, trackster.

72% or 75% is no big deal

Don't give it a second thought.

Enjoy your new car.....

The best I have seen for a 2014 Touring Sport Auto Navi is ~$39K by going through Carsdirect. You did great!

Don't feel bad, I paid about the same for my Base with Sport pacakge. Of course, I'm in Guam though. Anyway, congrats OP

I paid 39K for my touring with sport, but they also gave me $15K for my trade when everyone was quoting much lower than that, lol. I got offered $12K for my trade elsewhere and $14.5K from another place (and that was months before this purchase).

72% for a 3 year old trade seems pretty solid, especially after the recent 3k price drop (which accounts for 10% of the 28% you lost in depreciation)

Dont understand why everyone posts their transaction price after the sale. You liked the deal enough to buy the car, enjoy it. Forget what anyone else says about the deal, or you will never end up happy!

Congrats and enjoy your new Z!!!
