went to the dealer and I think I am getting screwed

I was offered a
2014 base 7AT for 33,867.36 cents Sticker was 32k and some change

What should i offer the guy?

I also have the chance for a Base 7AT +sports for 35k(web site price at mossy)

What should I offer for these 2 cars please. I am 34 years old and I have never bought a new car. went searching on the forum 13 pages back.

I am looking at buying in the next 48 hours with 5k down. I also work in the oil and gas field offshore. so the car should get around 50 miles every 3 weeks. at least for the next 3 years. after that its back to going 400 miles every 28 days.

down payment will be $5000
Thank you for your time.

I have to say the body style does not look that bad in person.

Chuck33079 10-29-2013 08:40 PM

I don't have anything to add as far as pricing, I just wanted to tell you that you want the sport package.

I agree sports package is a must, as far as pricing I'm sure you can get invoice or below if you are willing to walk out

Iphyy 10-30-2013 08:20 AM

Can you please tell me what that price is? About to go to the bank and pull funds out

Chuck33079 10-30-2013 08:25 AM

Hassle-free car-buying experience from a nationwide network of certified dealers. - TrueCar said a little over 34k.

Before you make a final decision I would suggest calling Peter Trambly at Autonation Nissan in Irving. I worked with him getting mine back in 09. I sent him an email with the specs I wanted and he had me a quote hours later at $500 over invoice. This offer was about $2K under the final offers I got from other dealers. My final price for a new base with sports package and all options (trunk mat, light up door sills etc) was just over $32K. I came in the next day to sign the paperwork and 2 weeks later to get the car. When I showed up the already financed from Capital One they ended up financing me at an even lower rate.

Since you are in a hurry I would call him and get an offer today. Probably worth the cost of a southwest flight up here.

I would aim for 34,5 - 35k drive out price, with 0% or 0.9% 60 month

for a base sport+ auto

My best advice is to email all of the Nissan dealers in Houston asking for the best deal. Say you are buying this month (end of month). Most will get back with you pretty quick. Pick 2, 3 lowest quotes and go from there.

Iphyy 10-30-2013 07:49 PM

I bought the car from mossy. Thank you for the info txspeed but I really needed a car today before I go back offshore.

$35,000 out the door. with 5,000 down.

Man was the bull **** being throwed around at that place. Buying that car for that price took me ALL DAY. 6:56 and I started around noon.

I went with what you guys said. base Auto +sports. Those breaks are strong. I was caught off guard big time.

I had a 2000 chev. blazor with no a/c steering wheel was falling apart and it leaks on the driver side when it rains.

Coming from that to the 370z + sports...dude. O_O

Love the car and I love the help you guys gave. 32 years old first new car in my whole life.

trackster22 10-30-2013 08:56 PM

congrats

Glad you were able to get a new Z. The hard work was worth it.

dtul 10-30-2013 09:31 PM

Gratz on the car, but you could have got it for at least 1k less I think. I got mine fully loaded for a base+sport for $33,900. It sounds like you rushed into it pretty quickly, but in the future spend more time before you buy the car and you can generally get a lot better deal. They started off trying to get me to pay $35,990 at one dealer and told me they wouldn't drop the price. Told them I already had an offer for $34,000 flat (I didn't) but they immediately told me they would do $33,900. I took the $33,900 to my preferred dealer and got it for that because the other guys pissed me off with their ******** and high offers at first. Don't be afraid to walk away just because they don't seem willing to work with you. That is all an act and normally another dealer will try and undercut until you have a price you are happy about. Regardless the deal is done, so congrats on the car I hope you enjoy the hell out of it, but in the future don't buy it unless you are completely comfortable.

Iphyy 10-31-2013 09:32 AM

I may have rushed a little but I make over $1,000 a week and live at home and pay no rent because i work off shore have been doing that for years. I think in the whole life grand picture of all things I am doing ok. I think you guys were right to go with the sports pkg. Its raining really bad so i might not get to drive it today =(
