So I thought i would go mess with some random sales guy at an infinity dealership and was able to talk down a 42k g37s to 38k, so i walked away asking for them to chop down another 2k, and if not possible then have a nice day.

I went to work and started calling dealerships across the state and country, spoke to mike from cali and he advised me to keep trying in my area so i could save some cash in the transporting fees. I took his advice and located a 370 MB 6SP TOURING /SPORT PACKAGE AND NAVI FOR 36K, so i offered 35k and i am currently waiting for a call back from ????? nissan of ??????

I'm probably gonna have to make a 5 hour drive to pick it up though, good deal or no good deal?

Anyways i thought i would share this common story with you guys, and catch some final advices.

NIIIIIICE, its actually 35,500, but they still haven't called, i guess i could go for 36k if they don't call until this weekend.

also do you guys recommend me drive those 5 hours back home? its an open road and every time we hit that road we get thousands of those bugs stuck in the paint. Not only that but i didn't want to put he engine through the stress on the first drive.

I believe they tell you not to drive at a steady MPH during the break in period. Also, I wouldnt't want to deal with the bugs hitting my car but if I had to, I'd get some protection on the paint first... its already thin enough.

On a serious note that is a smoking deal. Mine is fully loaded at $37,126.35 and sticker was $40,635. I know it is getting later in the year and prices are really coming down but make sure it is not a demo car.

maybe thats why they havent called back, they might be waiting for me to call tomorrow offering 36k. Im gonna take my chance and keep low balling the **** out of them.

5 hour drive is fine. We drove a brand new 135i 8 hours straight on the highway and till this date the car runs very smooth. Just vary your RPM every half an hour (switch from 6 to 5th. Drive few minutes on 5th and then 6th again). As for bug or highway rock chip, just tape the front with blue painters tape. You should be fine. Hopefully you get the deal. That's a smokin' deal!

Also, DO NOT buy cheap blue painters tape. Buy the 3m brand only. Some bmw owners was in a rush and picked up some cheap painters tape from a dollar store. The glue was all over the paint. Here's a good example how to tape it

hey thanks ak, the drive is my main concern, if i'm able to close I'm also gonna try to stop at least 2 or 3 times on the way and do an all around check. Thanks for the example on the paint deal.

should i take a base with sport package manual for 31,900?

hes adding the leather for 1k, is the seat the same on the base other than heating and the fabric?

What do you mean he's adding 1k for leather?
So he's giving you the touring package for 1k more?!
And you really can tell the difference when your sitting in a touring model vs base model.

actually i found another one, base with sport for 31,900 with leather installed.

i was wondering if other than power and heat, is the actual shape or model of the seat different?

and one with touring black on black, is extremely rare to find. the only one in florida was the original post about, but they're asking for 38,800 plus 689,tax,title.

Huh? The leather seats are not available on the base model... unless they're trying to sell you some sort of Frankenstein.

lol, they're offering to install the leather. its aftermarket but they claim that it matches nissan's touring seats. >?

as of right now im pretty disapointed with nissan's dealers around florida. Each one has given me different information on everything, and each one thinks hes a better hustler than the next...:shakes head: I mean, the economy is terrible and none of them has taken the time to listen to what i want specificaly, they've been pushing to sell everything plus their mother, and some even claim that the invoice on a base 6sp with sports is worth 36K... :shakes head: Is it hard to be honest and just tell me how much will it cost to get the car I want delivered????

So my last call today was to a certain person who sounds like he needs the comission more than the others, he "sounded honest" and tomorrow im paying a visit in person. he can get me an 09 touring MB sport package 6spd. for 36,500.

And if they can sense your kindness they will take advantage of you.

So i went to sign some papers today to pick up my car and they ended up not having it at that dealership... bs, i know, but at least i didn't sign anything and they said to come back monday and the car will be there.

Heres the deal, on the way back my dad was driving my 07 F-150 sport which i was planning to keep as a second car, and he kits a pretty deep puddle in the middle lane going 70 or so on SR 7 and we spun a few times, hit the curb sideways, almost fliped, hit a few palm trees, crossed to the other side of the road, and NOBODY DIED!

I didn't take pictures because its pouring like crazy, but my brother might have snaped a few with his iphone. The wheel that first hit the curb actually broke off and flew very very far away, not to get into more details, the cars probably a total loss...
what a year this has been...

If you have a more than 30 min drive back - I would stop every 30-40 mins to let the engine cool down (maybe wait about 15-20 mins each time) ... this is a good way to read the manual and learn about your car as you are waiting...

Its not good to run a new engine for extended amounts of time... also make sure you vary the RPM a LOT!

sorry bout the accident glad your ok...... but honestly what a blue ball story i was excited you were getting a new Z..
