Wow that's impressive.

I've always also heard that State Farm is too expensive.

I'd bet its because you dropped your insurance while you were overseas. For some reason, gaps in your insurance history ding you pretty bad.

They were the cheapest quote I received, but I suppose it's different for everyone.

Although I will say, when I bought the car I paid first/last months payments (this was end of Jan), and I have already paid three monthly bills on top of that...

I switched to GEICO from USSA and my rates droped from $240 a mo. to $119 a mo.

All these rates really don't say much without knowing how much coverage you all have.

For example my insurance can go from $444.60 to $600 or more depending on what my coverage is.

I have enough coverage to replace my car and protect my house, hopefully I won't run into anyone's Ferrari.

My Current Coverage:
Bodily Injury Liability $100,000/300,000
Property Damage Liability $250,000
Uninsured Motorist $50,000/100,000
Underinsured Motorist $50,000/100,000
Comprehenisve $500 ded
Collision $500 ded
Rental Reimbursement

2007 Mazda 3: $457.50 (Driven Less than 5000 miles per year/Commute)
2009 Nissan Z: $554.10 (Driven Less than 5000 miles per year/Pleasure)

It could be:
$358.00 Mazda 3
$444.60 Nissan Z
15,000/30,000 Across the board with a $1,000 deductable. (State Minimum Required coverage)

That's pretty crazy.

Is your Z garaged?

Location is a major factor in the premium, too. When I registered my old car in a small college town my premium dropped quite a bit compared to being up here closer to D.C.

True. I think I maxed everything out and went with a $500 deductible. So I have $1,000,000 per person bodily injury, $500,000 property, etc.

Just in case I crash the 0 times I am driving 150 mph (or more than 10 over the limit, for that matter) on public roads.

Progressive offers fantastic rates and well worth checking them out.

Two people on the policy: Wife 39 & Myself 39
Clean records, no accidents.
Two cars: 370Z & Infiniti EX35
FL..no house on policy
FICO: above 800

370Z
Liability: 100/300/100
Uninsured: 100/300
Comp: 100 Ded
Collision: 500 Ded
PIP @ 10K
Loan/Lease Payoff (25%)
6 month Prem: $393

Infiniti has same coverage and premium is: $398
Total Premium: $791

The big challenge now is to avoid any speeding tickets. I was cruising in today and looked down 90MPH!! It's way too easy to speed in this car.

our policy for full coverage before i got the z was 240 and after we added the z to the policy it went up to 260 a month so that's not bad at all. its two cars and three drivers with full coverage and either one of the drivers can drive any of the cars in the policy.

$1000/year for me, age 36 clean record. Although I got a quote from progressive that would put it below $800. My other cars are only around $550/year (sedan & truck).

The Weapon is on the right path. I'm an Allstate Insurance agent, and just asking how much people are paying doesn't really give you an idea of what you should expect to pay. Just don't want anyone getting wrong ideas.

Insurance is very individualistic. There are many factors about the individual that come into play. Credit, driving record, age, married/single, insurance history, coverages, zip code, how many cars you have on a policy, etc.... Not to mention different states have different laws. For example, some states have the Tort Option, while other stays have PIP (Personal Injury Protection).

So... unless you find someone in the exact same "niche" (and location) as you, you can't really judge what you might be paying based on what someone else is paying.

What are you guys paying for insurance on your 370z's? I have a parking lot accident from last summer and three and a half years ago I fell asleep while driving and totaled my truck. Geico quoted me about $340 per month. Does this sound a little steep to anyone? Also, for anyone else in a similar situation to mine, are you paying less for your insurance and who is your insurance provider? I am in the process of buying today but I don't want to pay that much for insurance.
